you can also duct tape three wrecks together, you end up with a rifter too, but require more work (but less wreck)

as said before, all a mater of wallet, i consider any t1 frig and cruiser with T2 fits "disposable" (meaning i do have at least 1 spare ready to go)

for frigs, rifter are great, for cruisers, i really like vexor / rupture, they make good T1 armor tanked little fleets (5 of each+ 2-3 exequror is a really powerfull and cheap fleet, really good for starting FC)

That depends on your income. For some people those are frigates, for other cruisers, for others.. carriers.

It really isn't, or I'd have an USB Slasher on my desk.

More seriously, the Rifter's superior tank gives it a different niche than the Slasher. Rifter can get much better tank, an upper hand in damage (fit a rocket launcher), and in general has more staying power. It is harder to fly well than the Slasher, but it is by no means surpassed.

I recommend the t1 cruisers, which are actually useful now. last month I spent like 200 mil on cruisers with cheap fits for faction warfare , RvB and flying with a couple of TwitchTV pick up gangs I fly with. The Rail Thorax, Caracal and Scythe are my favorites. Who the hell ever though a scythe would be good lol. The cruiser reblanace still stands as the best and smartest change CCP has made to the game in a long time IMO

A cheap, replaceable ship is a ship which will take an amount of isk to buy/fit, and also one that you can purchase a replacement for.

T1 frigs

Destroyers

T1 cruisers, especially Vexor, Stabber, Rupture, Moa, Caracal etc.

Navy frigates

Assault Frigs

Inties

Any of these will be great for cheap and easily replaceable PvP ships.

The ship isn't hard. Almost any frigate hull can work for that - same with a lot of cruiser hulls.

It's all those fittings and tweak variations of fittings that you'll want to have handy because an unfit hull isn't a combat ready ship.

That's where life gets interesting.
