Can't see character screen

Ok, so Im not sure if this is related to the other guys issues, but basically, im on mavericks, i didnt log on yesterday (i think there was a patch?) but i patched today, logged in.

I play windowed mode - multi chars etc. So, It does loading, downloaindg and processing bulk data etc. When it gets to the character selection screen, it goes black AND it goes across my screen a really nasty flashing black graphics glitch like the card is dodgy or a cables loose. Epilespy causing flashes. Quitting fixes it my computers stable.

So the first two times, i quit, i rebooted, but i decided to click arond randomly (because hey who knows where the cursor is)... and i can log in. And then i have no graphics glitches..

its *just* the login screen.

Problem is. i end up logging in as random characters until i find the one i want.

It takes quite a while to load now, like minutes to get into that screen.

Same problem here. Any ideas about it?

Yesterday I got the client to work with the repair trick describet here, but obviously only for one start.

Is the Mac Launcher broken atm?

Edit: OK, now it just freezes with a black screen, and I cannot even tab out or something. Client borked. Trying reinstall now.

so i dont believe my client is 'broken' - randomly, on my second account, the char sellection worked fine, just this one it didnt (or it might have been that i had the game open once, and the seocnd instance worked)

Ok, so, its got worse.

I have logged in with 3 accounts:

ACcount #1 - My main account, the one i want to play on. Major problems
account #2 - my second char, who is training and i dont really want to playon. No problems whatsoever.
account #3 - borrwed acount to test on: Major problems.

so yesterday/day before, if i could get pas the black char-selection screen, it was fine. Now It goes to a black screen, or worse still this:

Mmmmmm i can play like that sure.... Are we Not Pink Dont Shoot? .

I think you'll notice that this is windowed mode, and I have left another window over the top to really show its just eve that is borked, and only on two out of three accounts that i tested.

Unplayable. Thats if I don't get a epillepsy fit from trying to log in. Been trying now for about an hour and a half.

Same problem. Tried re-installing and clearing cache/settings and nothing works.

So, I have two macbook pros, both mid 2009 models, one is running mavericks (mine, with more memory), one is still running mountain lion (my wifes). Both do this on my primary account, and on my wifes account - my secondary account is fine. I've reinstalled, an no progress.

Basically I haven't been able to play for a week now (last wednesday) - I don't have my work laptop all the time. Is basically this no longer supported? Am I now degraded out of the game?

I don't believe my laptops to be out of date yet - I don't plan on replacing either my or my wifes laptop for another couple of years.

Would like some idea of what to do? Is there any more information I can get you guys? Is there anything you would like me to try? I really really would like to play … its kind of escapism from the real world.

Am I even posting in the right place?

Thanks ! This post was all i hoped for :D

The problem is that as someone who dosnt really know what all the possible symptoms are, the other posts seem to have various differences so i didn't know if they were related, but its good to know that you are reading them all :D

What I'm seeing isn't the launcher, but the game in the character selection / past that point screens...

Well, the patch today had no affect. After 'done processing bulk data' the graphics glitch affects my entire screen, not just the window its in.

I would like to say progress is being made, but...well, after the patch, it only took 4-5 black screens before I got online. Eve crashed about an hour in, but let me in on the first relog. Had about another hour or two when it crashed again. This time however I can't seem to get back in...sigh. Currently I get either black screens or the frozen, and flickering Character screen...

Still constant crashes, although twice its required me to reboot the computer to get out of EVE.

Currently we're downloading EVE to my GF's PC laptop to see if it'll run EVE, because playing on a mac is out of the question for the foreseeable future. Ugh

There is a patch planned on Tuesday that has a fix for the black screen on startup on Mac. The fix is on our test server, Singularity, and so far all reports indicate that the fix is good.

I have just loaded the client on SISI and would like to confirm that yes indeed I am able to get past the character select screen. I will test through out the day to make sure that it wasn't a lucky shot.
