So ask around - see which corps appeal to you. Find out what ships they fly. Train into those.

My corp might be moving into wormholes as a corp, instead of me joining a wormhole corp. If that happens we will probably start with a C2.

Which is also why I haven't said much about what I can fly now. When people list a ship I can already fly, that post will still be useful for other members of my corp.

I think I've got enough help to make a skill plan now. I've only got two questions left:
- Which blockade runner is the best choice and why ?
- How much of a problem would it be if I avoid T3s and capitals for a while ?

Because the SP loss from T3s worries me a bit, though that should change once I've got some experience in wormholes. Capitals will just take ages for me to train.

I believe if you eject from the T3 right before you explode you will not have the SP loss as the T3 did not explode while you were in it.

That ejecting trick was removed when new crimewatch system was introduced.

So even if you were to eject from a T3, leave it in a WH, and an hour later someone blew it up I would still lose SP?

While I'm planning to stay in FW for some time, I've run out of FW related things to train for. Since wormholes are what I plan to do next, what ships/modules should I train in preparation ?

Assuming you have T2 tank and T2 medium guns your first skills you'll want to train is Covops and scanning skills and supports to V.

As far as hulls go, your breakin point is going to be in C1's and C2's which PvE can be done reliably in battlecruisers. For PVP, HAC's, Recons, light dictors, and HIC's are going to be your utility ships. The current WH PvP meta is T3 AHACS. Neut Legion, Web Loki, Blaster Proteus with Guardian support. Train all subsystems to V, there is no excuse.

You will need to do material logistics so a couple of people trained to fly Blockade Runners.

Gas huffing in Ventures is also good to train for. Salvaging Noctis or MTU's and Salvage dessies are going to be needed.

You will also want your corpmates to train for Pos gunning for defense.

As you grow and get better, Dread and then Carrier skills along with Vargurs for running static anomalies.

I don't have a great deal to add, but I can talk to what our alliance requires for pilot skills.

Before entering any IOS corporation: Astrometrics to 4, Astrometrics support skills to at least 3, and able to fly a battlecruiser.

Before entering any of our C3 or higher corporations:
  • Ability to warp cloaked in some ship. The Astero and Stratios have radically reduced the skill requirement here, and are worth it for lowbies wanting to jump into wormholes!
  • Effectively fly a doctrine PvP ship and a doctrine PvE ship in the target corporation.

What's more important to me than ship skills is the soft skills. The stuff you learn that isn't on your pilot's API. And this is stuff that a lot of guys with solid wormhole experience still struggle with!
  • Can you scout all of a system's POS's without being seen yourself?
  • Can you triangulate the position of ships and wrecks in a data or relic site using d-scan, then nail their location in just one cycle of core probes?
  • Can you do the same and nail a warp-in -- rather than warping to the beacon -- using combat probes in just one cycle?
  • Can you do the above without being seen on d-scan by the targets?
  • Do you scout your chain daily looking to find or create content?
  • Do you enjoy scouting the chain looking for content?
  • Do you keep the mapper up-to-date, filling out signatures, POS locations, gathering & summarizing intel, etc. rather than just looking for chain connections or PvE sites?

If you're thorough, wormholes are very rewarding both for PvP and PvE. The key is not what ships you can fly. The key is the value you bring to your group by creating or locating content to keep everyone engaged in fun stuff regularly.

Contact an existing WH corp/alliance about getting recruited and ask what they want.

About the only consistent requirements are likely to be Covops and scanning. Other skills that are most likely to benefit your bid for membership are Logistics, interdictors, heavy interdiction cruisers, and both tech II armor and shield tanking.

Bob is always present, watching you traverse space accessable only though wormholes. He is the constant reminder that there is always someone watching you, waiting for your moment of weakness to appear and claim his toll for collecting the bounty of his realm.
