An art connoisseur's request - acquisition and public service.

As some of you might already know, I consider myself a connoisseur of finer things in life - what's the point of one's hard work if one can't enjoy the fruits of his labour, after all?; as such I also have an extensive collection of art pieces of various backgrounds - the most famous one being my Gallente abstract expressionism collection; the small exhibition a few months ago was quite successful.

But let's get to the matter at hand. My most prized collection is definitely the one of ancient Feythabolian Empire artifacts, making it both an art and archeological collection. The obvious issue is, the fundus of such a collection is limited by the fact no new pieces are being made, and carbon dating as well as the complexity of Feythabolian artisanship is making any kind of a forgery rather easy to spot.

I've been using my standard channels to acquire new pieces for the collection, but you never know where some other ones might be located, out of my reach. As such, I would like to post an inquiry - if anyone has any Feythabolian artifacts or even pieces of art in their possession, I'd be more than interested to purchase those.

Also, not to come across as a crazy hoarder just keeping the above mentioned collection to myself, I'm willing to showcase my collection to fellow art connoisseurs or anyone interested in the ancient Feythabolian culture.

If you're interested in either of those, drop me a line here or contact me via mail. I hope to hear from you soon.

The nature, form and content of your own comment puts you under the authority to say anything.

To Leopold: Good luck in your endeavour. I can only envy a man who can put up effort, time and resources to raise his own art galleries. Maybe when I finally reap the rewards of industry, I'll be doing the same.

The Amarrians lend themselves to certain stereotypical parody and mockery, but I'm not sure how to deal with someone who finds the idea of an Amarrian artlover to be weird, given the Amarrian fascination with creating huge marble buildings to storehouse their endless collections of art.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

Those marble buildings are built by the artisans they enslave and hold the art they have looted. They have a cult masquerading as a religion that is pure evil. They have all the trappings of being civilized while in fact being the most barbaric people in New Eden's history. They are a weird parody of what it is to be human, all the style with none of the substance.

Well, it isn't so much that we collect Art. Although we do. Really, we collect Artists.

And once you've got an Artist or several thousand, well, if they don't keep producing Art, then how do you know they are Artists? And if they are not Artists, well, then they have to be put to work doing something, now don't they? And once you've got all that Art, you have to put it somewhere, much as Pieter suggests. Of course, you can't just put it anywhere. You must put it somewhere Artistic. Which leads to the acquisition of more Artists. Who must continue to produce Art, or be put to work doing something else.

Consequently, Amarr has a very great deal of Art, indeed.

From Gankstas to Ganksters, you are obviously just full of substance.
If someone's talent is strength, why not have them build tall buildings of marble?
If someone's talent is creating works of art, why not have them craft pieces?
Just because someone was not born as part of God's chosen, does not mean God left them completely without hope. In these cases, he clearly gave them a very fine talent and purpose. Fortunately for them, they were given an opportunity to share that with God's chosen.
All we have from you is words on GalNet.

I don't think kindly of your stereotyping. Your type always get it wrong.

In fact, of the four central factions, only Amarr is described, at an executive level, as possessing an entire servitor race of artisans. Each corner of every block in Dam-Torsad is a cathedral two miles tall, itself a masterpiece of architecture and colored frequency crystals, further stuffed with More Art - yes, some, or even much, of it "looted," but Art is Art regardless of how it got onto the wall. Why, the Queen of Kaztropol's swimming pavilion contains more Art than the constellation of Ani.

Consequently, it would be far more shocking to find an Amarrian who did not collect Art, but these details are lost on those who speak too quickly.

Best wishes in your search, Diabolical Leo!

I'm not terribly good at parody myself, so I never tried to define it.

I think I have one or two pieces. I would love to view your collection, though. We can talk about a possible exchange in person.
Edit: I would rather correspond to you openly and notoriously.

Who are you calling Amarrian?

But to expand and elaborate, the Cartel's eclectic and inclusive multicultural society offers a really varied take on various different aspects of cultural production, art included.
I'm not saying we are all gallery-going art afficiandos, that would be ridiculous; merely that it shouldn't come across as 'odd'.

Uncommon, maybe. But not odd.

I'm sure an illegitimate businessman like yourself would of course have no problems publicly guaranteeing my safety? By say, putting double the cost of a True Amarr Holder, based on the Utopian market, in escrow, to be held as ransom until my safe return?

Oh, you wound my feelings, milady. Even with my Angel association, I don't see how it would be in my interest to cause any harm to you, really.

But I suppose caution is necessary in the harsh world we live these days - if my good word is not enough for you... I suppose we both have some third parties in regards to the escrow in mind - let's keep things fair to the end however and agree on one that is completely neutral from both Angel and Amarr perspective.

Now that the public matters have been resolved, contact me via the mail, sil vous plait.

I once knew an animal trainer that had trained some of the animals to throw their bodily waste against a wall. On this wall he had placed a canvas on it. He would later remove the canvas and frame it. People would come and buy it as art.

It is amazing what people will call art.

I would like to bring apologies for indecent behavior of Wing Cmdr. Tuulinen.
Sometimes our less educated officers don't understand what they are saying.
I hope that Cmdr. Tuulinen's arrogant ignorance won't disturb good relationship between our Empires.
I will make sure he will pay for this, when I will meet him in person next time.

Been following this exchange as I promote cultural exchanges, however as it fell silent, I would like to offer my assistance in continuing this exchange.
I can act as a third party to secure the 'holding sum' Mr Caine would need to pay till your safe return to the Empire, Lady Savonarola.
