Crystal set Vs Slave Set. And un-Nerf the Snake set!!

It is a little unbalanced that the crystal set provides nearly limitless potential while the slave set provides finite and comparably quite small potential. If the sets were switched in armor/shield role then both would have a potential bonus since shields regenerate based on a percentage of the total and armor does not. the slave set buys you a few seconds and not a lot more where as the crystal set can extend you tank almost indefinably. This has always discouraged me from armor tanking because for no better reason than this, shields are better. And with the snake set nerffing from hell I am quite disappointed with set implants all together.

Consider my purposely to reverse crystal set to shield amount and slave set to repair amount. And, For the love of all things space bound, Un-Nerf the Snake set at least a little bit.

More buffer is the general theme of armor tanking.
More burst tank is the general theme of shield tanking.

And any particular reason for the Snake set to be unnerfed?

It was twice as powerful. Just cutting it in half sucks for everyone who bought it thinking they were getting something cool only to wake up and find some marginally useful implants.

I'll add to this by pointing out that...

- Slave implants tend to work better on bigger ships
- Crystals implants don't work on capitals at all
- Slaves add more buffer which gives better defense against alpha strikes
- Crystals allow people to put up a more sustained, "endurance"-type defense
- Slaves work on any ship and will boost it's armor HP regardless of how you fit it
- Crystals only work if you have a shield booster equipped

I kind of agree the Snakes should be unnerfed. Speed tankers got a big slap in the face when that happened.

Opening up EFT (because seriously, **** buying some expensive-ass implants just to look at numbers) I see my standard Drake fit going from 1739m/s to 2169m/s with HG Snakes. That's a 25% increase, an increase that (assuming skill) can be turned into an incredibly tanking advantage, far beyond what slaves or crystals can provide.

I don't see any issue with budgeting mobility more harshly than raw EHP or DPS enhancements when it comes to balancing. Now what I will agree with is faction/deadspace MWDs giving more speed, because cap reduction only is frankly ridiculous.

I can still make ships that will go 7KM/s but thats not the point. The point is that i want my snake set back to the power it had before. I dont really care if you dont like it because if you could afford it, then you would want it to be better too. If i couldn't afford it I might feel different but thats how alot of people felt about motherships. ONLY because they didnt have one "its too powerful WHAaAaa!" and so they got nurffed...

I always remember when I bought a full high grade set of Talismans to go with my alts Curse. When I finally bought the Omega implant, I plugged them all in. I went to bed dreaming about the fun I would have with them when I logged on the next night to pew pew. I wake up in the morning, check the forums and see the nos nerf blog which effectively turning my investment into the most expensive +3 implants ever.

These implants are supposed to be supper powerful, that why they are rare and expensive. Otherwise they would be are exactly as you said it; Just +3 implants and we all ready have those. I know that CCP doesn't agree with anything moving fast, and there is no chance that they will fix this atrocity without an act of congress. But, never the less, the snake set nurff is a major suck factor for players.

It's like you read what he wrote, quoted him and then said something completely unrelated. And anyway, keep them as-is, 25% to max speed is more than enough.

Yeah not expensive at all... just cost a lot in loyalpoints which has its cost, those who are working for pirate corps get some lp/hour.

They can turn that lp into implants or ships/modules , saying that these implants are not expensive is stupid , they are pretty expensive to be made, as they need hours of missioning to get the lp for them.
Alternatively they could do lame sanctum or noobi freindly lvl4 in highsec.

I don't care how much they cost really, I just want to go fast, and 25% doesn't cut it for me. So on this point we disagree, I want it back to 42% or 50% whatever it was at. If that makes me "too strong" or whatever your worried about, then get yourself a snake set and level the playing field. That all I'm saying. ALSO, I would like to see a high potential advantage of an armor set. Like a crystal set for armor. And maybe a slave set for shields.

Redo slaves to work for active tanks, might help kill off some of the capitals floating around as well.

Give the tanking sets the bonus to amount repped PLUS a ~90% heat protection ..

Or we could ask for active tanking to be revisited .. oh wait .. Smile

Crystals are great, until your cap gets neuted. Now you have 0 tank and no buffer since you fitted for active tanking! You could use it for pve, but that's just overkill and unnecessary.

Slaves work on capital ships, crystals don't.

Buffer is better to have anyways. Logis have more time to react before you explode and you have less chance get alpha'd.
