Given that all my Science skills are at 4, which ones should I train to 5 first?

What are you using the science skills for at the moment?

anything that isn't a datacore skill.

Never forget.

Certainly all non-datacore skills first (although it's questionable if you ever have to place remote jobs across an entire region...), though not all datacore skills are made equal. If you're really at the point of choosing between them, mechanical engineering is kind of the standout as getting used in high cost inventions (read: ships). It's a pretty slim marginal gain but, hey, you're playing the thin marginal gain game at that point anyhow. Graviton physics also kind of puts itself forward as an option but for entirely different reasons (and those reasons aren't at all related to getting all of your other science skills to 4 or 5 and so probably aren't relevant).

Why are you training these skills if you don't even know what they do

Research Project Management to begin with.

I have no intention of ever training any science skills to 5 for invention purposes, and I run a fair number of invention jobs at any given time. The 11th science slot is better return on SP than any of these.

20j remote research range is good to have, full regional is overkill unless you live at one end of a topologically large region.

Not technically.

Data core skills are used in invention and T2 manufacturing, each has a data core with a matching name. Quantum Physics, Laser Physics, Mechanical Engineering, etc.

This question was not answered.

This question also needs answering.

Training skills to V for the sake of it is hilariously bad, mkay?

There are some skills all characters can use:
Core:
Science V (Basic skill really)
Graviton Physics V (Required for t2 warp fields)

Optional:
Research V (Nice for some passive income)
Laboratory Operation V (Same as above)
xxxxx (Add in any skill you need for your research passive income, depending on what you're doing)

The rest, unless you want to run a focused research character, aren't that useful.

To be honest there are some good skills in trade and production too. At some point all characters will use the market, so reducing transaction taxes for example are useful for any character, for example.
