That might actually be beneficial. It should however, be mandatory if you're stabbed and optional if not.

Again hiding in fleets of people doesn't make you a brave person, just another scared eve player who finds having a numbers advantage increases their chance of survival, and reduced the risk involved in playing the game. It isn't any different than a solo player using stabs to avoid being blobbed.

Why don't you boys just sissy-slap each other and get it over with?

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

Came in expecting a list of players who think they're hardcore and winning. Leaving disappointed.

Recently had a miner get too cosy in my lowsecs. After my corpies couldn't hold her down a few times over the course of a week, I went out in a cloaky with 3 scrams to catch her. Many, many, tears were had in local.

She even pulled the nerd card. Pirate

OP - Nerr nerrr if I dont train up my toon then it is a newbie alt and you cant touch it! no I called "safe" leave me alone! can't touch me past this line!

OPs enemy - This guy seems like a bit of a ****, we should probably kill him.

My breakdown is, OP spent 2 hours on his own orbiting buttons trying to avoid any multiplayer gameplay. The other guys spent 2 hours trying to engage in multiplayer gameplay. In a multiplayer game one might say that they are winning.

The OP was the one providing the content (the mouse to chase).

I am calling shenannigans on your entire argument.

I guess this topic has sorta moved a little from wining to what is an honorable engagement. This question is not new to Eve or any MMO for that matter. I never understood the thought process of players in previous MMO’s that would never engage unless they had over whelming odds or caught you at an disadvantage.

Most care about kill to death ratio or pvp titles or efficiency and kill board like this game. Unlike Eve the other MMO’s had no real loss except maybe Darkfall so what have you really lost by accepting a fight you may not win? Yet still people would avoid pvp unless assured victory. People care about different things. Eve is no different.

Eve has the added bonus of losing your ship but ships and isk mean nothing to some while efficiency or kill board mean everything to others. Guy’s from Fly Reckless adhere to no fuks pvp.

I prefer to not throw away ships and isk by crashing a gate camp in my interceptor or taking on ridicules odds even though it provides fun and content for others it does nothing for my diminishing wallet. I will engage in fights I know we can’t win while in a fleet but that’s just part of it. Those are losses I am accepting when I fleet up and undock.

So do people really expect others to be honorable and only attack with same numbers? I am not a fan of gate camping or using bubbles but I have camped gates before. The thought never crossed my mind to 1v1 a guy that flew into the bubble, after all everyone else needs their kill mail right?

For me wining is evading the gate camp not losing my ship and more isk. I will and have done the “honorable” 1v1 at the sun when I can but don’t look for me to go out of my way to provide that because you feel you are somehow owed it.

Tldr; Not everyone shares or cares to share the same in game value system as you do. You pay your sub you play the way that makes you happy.

this thread does not deliver.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

OP had fun cos he thinks he won for evading and making money.
Dudes trying to catch him had fun trying to catch him and think they won.

So all parties involved had fun and believed they won?

It seems were missing a winner here... Ah yes! CCP

I killed you -> i win, you lost
YOU evaded me -> i didn't win, you didn't lose
YOU killed me -> you won

this is simple actually

If you think that gathering LP to make ISK and evading players makes you win take a look to NPC: it's their job to provide players with targets to shoot and bounties for killing them. Do you really up to do their job? Lol

Earning more isk than lost is called winning in many books.

If ISK is your endgame, yes.

For many people it's not.

And there's the crux. If you all you want to do is shoot other random people, well there are plenty of other games out there (CoD, TF2, MMOFPS, etc.) that let you do it without the skill queue or isk costs. If you shoot ships in EVE because there's real loss involved, well, I don't think the OP lost, and more importantly, the "victors" haven't actually won anything. Meaning, if your idea of PvP in EVE is limited to randomly shooting people, well, you're just a small time thug frequenting the back alleys of EVE.

If you want to be impressive in EVE, then we need to talk about empire building, from markets to sov to RMT. Anything else means you're just some random civilian running around in an armed ship.

The nice thing about Eve is the only one who gets to decide if I'm "hardcore & winning" is me. Last night I spent an hour watching dudes moving from one POS to another in wh space. I spent that whole hour cloaked in a Loki waiting for them to make a mistake I could capitalize on. When they did I exploded 20mil isk worth of Mammoth. That was fun. Would do again tonight if the situation comes up.

The first rule of Eve shouldn't be don't fly what you can't afford to loose. It should be, don't give a **** what other people think.

Station trading isn't the best way to earn isk

The hell it isn't. It is literally the only way to earn isk while offline and without ever undocking.
