Our corp has this guy also new to the game, his account lapsed so he made another trial account so I think hes planning on paying again to continue. Anyways hes been derping out in a rifter killing poor thrashers that lose their way, and he decided to link one to me where the guy raged at him for it. But he was in lowsec in a belt..

He said bad words to our newbie and said hes quitting the game. I check the guy and he hasn't even played two weeks. Is this a good thing? or a bad thing? As much as I would like to link it this is all I can give.

Our guy > gf
Other newbie > **** you
Our guy > Hahaha
Other newbie > i was firing at a **** asteroid half the time
Other newbie > ******
Our guy > LOLOLOLOL, in thrasher?
Other newbie > **** this game
Other newbie > i quit
Our guy > LMFAO

Yeah hes kind of a jerk :P
I would just think it's better if we had more players. Don't you?

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

It's a good thing. There is no downside to someone finding out early on that they aren't ready for this game.

That is one less future carebear whiner asking for nerfs to aggression and trying to get CCP to put barriers into player interaction. That's a positive outcome and your newbie has done New Eden a service.

Yes, if EVE was for him, he likely would have sworn revenge or taken it in stride and learned from it.

It's a good thing.

I died literally 2 hours into my trial, yet I'm still here making terrible posts and flying terribly fitted ships. If someone is that much of a babby that they'll quit a game just because they got beaten once, New Eden won't be any worse off from their departure.

Heh... EVE isn't for everyone. If that guy hadn't died to your guy he would have been killed by someone else.

*sigh* With all the warnings and safety settings you have to click through in order to put yourself in that kind of danger nowadays...

Anyway, this should probably be in Crime & Punishment.

Kid, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me believe there's one all-powerful Code controlling everything.

Lost my thrasher to an electronic attack frigate in low. He jumped me while i was just about to finish killing the biggest rat i'd ever seen, a cruiser!
Swore at him in local, he told me with proper fit i could have killed him, gave me a few mil isk.
Just another day in low, nothin to cry about.
Nothing to nerf either.

New Player Experience -- working as intended.

Some fooks are just better off playing another game.

I've only caused one person to get so mad they outright quit the game. I killed some new dude flying around lowsec in a cruiser (I just saw a cruiser, didn't specifically know it belonged to a rather new player). He messaged me and yelled at me in all caps for fifteen or so minutes, spewing some very nasty words. He was so mad, I think he was legitimately crying from anger -- Had to have been.

When it was all over, I added him to my watchlist and have never seen him log in again.

EDIT: It happens. Some people just get too invested in their ship/sense of security or whatever.

Silliest thing I ever saw was a guy at Vittenyn navy station that had spent months training for and building his own rattler and then the instant it was finished took it out for a "fly around" unfitted ... and wait for it ... meanwhile his newb corp was currently war-decced by one of those griefer corps that wardecs newly created player corps for ransom.
