Can somebody put this into laymans terms ?

Quote:
Kill right on you made available
From: CONCORD
Sent: XXX.XXXX.XXXX.XXXX

The kill right XXXXXX has on you has been made available to all for 1,500,000 ISK.

In my character portrait sheet under the kill rights tab it shows it there with 19days remaning

So does this mean that i can be killed by ANYBODY (be it in HS or LS) with out any form of repocutions for the next 19days ??

If someone sees you and pays X they enter a limited engagment with you.

i.e pay that and they can shoot you while concord looks the other way
(if he engages you are entirely entitled to defend yourself as well)

Also once it has been activated one of two things will happen,
1) You die. The Kill right then disappears
2) You don't die. The kill right is then made available again to anyone else who pays that price.

Correct,

If you (right?) click the pilot and a option should come up to activate a kill right, then the timer begins after confirming activation and payment.

It is one successful engagment only, or upon the end of 19d it expires and can no longer be activated. Whichever occurs first.

Not quite right. Activating a kill right doesn't start a limited engagement - it flags the pilot as suspect. This means that ANYONE in the vicinity can shoot at you for 15 minutes when the timer starts.

Having just had a little interaction with the killright system (both losing a ship to a killright, and selling a garbage killright for a billion ISK to someone that didn't read properly), I can help you here.

I'm assuming you got the KR against you by ganking someone - there's other ways but I'll refer to the KR owner as the 'gankee'.

Normally in highsec or lowsec there are consequences for someone attacking you (more severe in highsec). This transferrable KR gives people the right to pay 1.5 million ISK to the gankee to make you lose all of those protections for 15 minutes. Because it's public, anyone (including your alts) can make this payment.

Once you lose one ship as a result of legal combat during the 15 minute killright suspect period, the killright goes away. (Be warned: your pod and any ship you reship into is still legal to attack for the whole 15 min, potentially extended by 5 min if you shoot back).

As such you have options. Have an alt/friend buy the KR for 1500k and kill you in a rookie ship, or just treat highsec as being lowsec (ie anyone can shoot you) for a month.

OP - if you want to avoid kr entirely - simply dont pod people in lowsec unless you have a limited engagement with them. As for HS - activating your weapons against a player who is not flagged (either LE or Criminal or Suspect) will result in the target having KR available against you and result in your ship being cocordoikan'ed - so keep your safety to yellow. OFC if you going pirate then KR are not a big deal.

Go to backwater, empty system.
Go to safe spot in noob ship.
Get alt.
Bring alt to safe spot in armed frigate.
Alt activates kill rights.
Alt kills you.
You both dock up.
Problem solved.

Can confirm that Sabriz and I are bad at kill rights (both of us lost ships to them within a few ours of each other) but that the above information is correct.

What makes you think I'm not ahead on interactions with the killright system this week?

You think your bad? Check this out - http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=21702072. That's the sort of thing that you really want to avoid. His kr were set at 5 mil - so in effect 5 mil kr were traded for a 6 bil ship. And to add insult to injury, ox iso in his hold had been bought from the pirates that killed him. Generally, people who live in lowsec or gank in hs have no real issue with Krs. Its the folk who only dabble in the occasional lowsec pod kill that wind up in this sort of mess.
