Are wormholes in highsec safer than "others"?

I started scanning, after probing down few combat sites i found a wormhole... But i chickened out when the popup told me it will port me "somewhere unknown".

That was a wormhole in 0.9 sec. Are those noob-friendly?

Or is it that every wormhole, no matter null/low or hi sec, are equally random when it comes to whats waiting on the other side?

Combat sites have names - hideout/lookout etc i can check the difficulty. Other complexes have x/10. Is there any chance of guesing what a wormhole will bring?

Where a wormhole leads to or from has no bearing whatsoever on how "dangerous" or "noob friendly" it is. The info screen of the wormhole connection will tell you whether it's c1-c3, c4-5 or a c6 (unknown, dangerous unknown or deadly unknown respectively).

hahaha, i love the rating, i need to look closer in the UI next time.

I will not ask - can i enter any of those with my destroyer - obviously i can.

The question is - do i have a chance of getting my ship out in one piece?

Probably not. A dessy might conceivably do C1 anoms, but people in there will try to kill you, and I doubt you'd live if they tried. Give it a few months before trying to venture into w-space.

Just hop in and check d-scan. You can hop back out if you don't burn off, just hang on the wormhole and jump back out if something attacks you. The dessie isn't going to be able to do anything, but gotta get over that apprehension of what's on the other side.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

You could ninja mine gas sites with a venture. You have to keep a shaky hand on the warp button because someone might try to kill you. They will also do their best to kill your pod too because that's how we do in whs. In approximately 20 minutes rats will probably spawn and they can one shot your venture so you definitely need to warp out as soon as you see them.

Until you can fly a battlecruiser or t2 frigate there aren't really any C1 sites you can do.

I like to use wormhol.es from the in game browser to gather my first scraps of intel on a new hole.

Finally, some whs lead to known space e.g. hisec, lowsec, or nullsrc. These can sometimes be exploited.

My first visit to a wormhole was the 2nd or 3rd day I played this game. We were in beautiful downtown Akianavas (where Aura sends new Caldari pilots for tutorials), fleeted up with an advanced newbie (he had an Osprey) and I was practicing scanning from the tutorial in my shiny new Cormorant. Neither of us had visited a wormhole, so we decided to see what they were like. Into the wormhole we went, then I warped to one of the anomalies and about 10 seconds later was floating in my pod. The other guy panicked and exited the wormhole which collapsed behind him. Neither of us knew how to self destruct my pod, so I had to ask in newbie chat.

Errors in the preceding paragraph: bookmark the exit once you enter a wh, don't warp to sleeper anoms at 0, check online what class wh it is, sleeper rats (especially in a class 5) can pop anything a newb can fly in at most 2 shots, don't panic.

Go for it, try it in a cheap ship.

Whatever you want to do inside, bookmark the exit before warping off^^

As far as other players looking to kill you are concerned, highsec wormholes are actually gonna be more dangerous, simply because wormhole residents need to make runs out to highsec to sell loot and get POS fuel. (Meaning the highsec wormhole will likely have someone cloaked up watching it, and they will see you go through)

All wormholes are safe, this is a known fact of EvE.
