Single dread cap escallation

Hello fellow wormholers.

I recently saw a video on youtube where guy with single moros and some support RR kitchen sink was doing capital escallation. I have done some EFT warrioring and devised some setups like oneiros/eos/rapier/moros or 2xguardian/rapier/moros.

I understand that this is primarily way to farm static. I want to ask if it is still doable/done and what are best practices according to this tactics? And would my setups work for it?

This is a great idea, and is definitely doable. I highly recommend farming statics in this fashion.

Bring guardians, lokis, and a dread with a depot and that's all you need. There's no real method, just warp to 0 and ****.

Haha, implying you even need subcap support to do a solo escalation in a dread.

I actually have fraps of myself doing this. Maybe I'll upload it.

used to do it with dread, 4 guardian and a loki some time ago.
or you can BM the spawn point and just warp the dread there. you can kill the BSs before they gain enough range.

You'll want to use 3 Guardians, 2 will have serious tanking and cap chain problems if they primary you.
3 Guardians, Moros, and 2+ Loki's works well. Add some DPS t3's to help take down cruisers so Dread can primary on killing BS's.

Minimum you need is two guards with links or three guards without to be safe. 4 Guards is overkill, better get another rapier.

2 will have issues with neuting - might work a lot of the time but some times they will die and if one of the logi pilots isn't 100% on the ball and all sleepless guardians primary the other it will all fall apart.

Hey jerkward, you'll need subcaps to kill all the non-trigger spawns that point in many sites. Plus everyone knows the warp to 0 trick these days, you're nothing special. Grr

Though to be perfectly fair, my guess is that they probably aggro now after the patch notes mentioning changes to sleeper aggro ranges, who knows. Still, it was doable just as I said.

Watch the first sleeper. Notice how he gets shot to ~1% hull? There is some mechanic in the game currently where sometimes if you shoot a target with a shot that would have killed it, it will not die and instead remain at 1% hull left or w/e. In the case of this first sleeper, you see that if I had my guns grouped, I would have used all 3 instead of just one to shoot that last bit of hull.

It's a really gay mechanic, and what it means for dreads running sleeper sites is that if my guns are stacked, I will often waste an entire shot just to shoot 1% hull. Ungrouping just lets me waste less dps. Even if this mechanic didn't exist, having ungrouped guns still gives you more dps since you overshoot the target less often.

Obviously in this video it doesn't matter since I finish the escalation easily in ~2.5 minutes, but if you're running 2 escalations, having that extra dps does make a difference in finishing both waves before 5 minutes.

No I didn't, the first sleepless guardian dies to one gun, the other two are then put on the next target, which is my point.

As others have said, very much doable. Bring ECM as well, because the escalation waves are the only parts worth doing. Warp support, burn up ~50km, warp dread, kill/salvage/jam and you can do sites in about 10 minutes total. There's probably more max/min ways of doing it, but a comfortable 10 minutes for an escalation is pretty decent.
