Good. I'd pay extra money for the game if they continue this "policy" in a big way.

Smile Me too.
I think ISDs make some bad calls sometimes. But we have to have them around to keep things semi-civil. In GD only, that is.

I hate to call a fellow agent out in public, but you're sounding remarkably like Dinsdale.

Actually, not only sounding like Doomsdale, but also like a highest carebear. Not the normal NO standard.

It's not hard to agree with the OP though. After a four year absence, the decline of the EVE-O forums must be pretty shocking.

For a lot of us the changes to the forums were gradual. We were the frogs boiled slowly.

Sure, years ago you had the occasional psycho posting animated GIFs of pigs getting their heads chainsawed off - but really - the old forums were by-and-large far more entertaining to read and participate in.

Today - it is sterile, and most importantly, not fun. The vibrancy is gone.

Fun is important in the entertainment industry.

I honestly think they should be harsher, some threads should be locked from the first post (because we all know where it's heading) and then they keep it 150 pages later.

If you consider it fun being an idiot who lacks even basic spelling abilities or logic... then yes, they do.

bingo, his pig not being a goat doesn't make the pig wrong, just him an idiot for shouting at his pig "WHY ARENT YOU A GOAT!" (Source)

To answer your question: I can't believe this thread is still open.

The right to free speech doesn't automatically carry with it the right to be taken seriously.

HAHA. Your EVE doll looks like a clone-vat sex-change op victim gone wrong. Was that intentional?

Didn't know it was possible to put boobs on a male character....

I know CCP is painfully PC, and hip to all the new social fads of the day, but is this a new Incarna feature I wasn't aware of?

The ISD only uphold the forum rules if you think that takes the fun out of it thats your opinion, personally i like the fact that they lock posts that are there purely to troll and flame.

There are more ways to deal with (unfunny) trolls than just deleting post/locking thread.
The Eve community is perfectly capable to moderate itself.

Also, iirc, the current form of moderation came into existance after the fallout from WiS hit these forums with page after page of rage (and Ponypics)-threads locked by the Devs themselves.
Kind of ironic, if you consider that exactly this storm was responsible for the complete change of direction the game has taken and what is generally considered the right abd better direction.

Childish sputum is vibrancy ? That's a new one on me.

It's rare that it does not take over 36 hours for action to happen after reporting. At that point it's pretty much useless. Too late to the "party" indeed.

This thread is doomed.

Good morning forum folk. Ordinarily I'd just quote the rules and close this thread, but today I'd like to take a quick second to remind everyone that all CCL is here to really do is enforce the rules and be transparent about enforcing said rules. There was once a time when we would close threads and not say why. This made a lot of people mad, and as such we updated the way we enforce rules. If you think there's a way we can improve, send in a petition and we'll do what we can to see if it can be used to improve the way things are done.

Now that that's said, thread closed for:

Quote:
22. Post constructively.

Negative feedback can be very useful to further improve EVE Online provided that it is presented in a civil and factual manner. All users are encouraged to honestly express their feelings regarding EVE Online and how it can be improved. Posts that are non-constructive, insulting or in breach of the rules will be deleted regardless of how valid the ideas behind them may be. Users are also reminded that posting with a lack of content also constitutes non-constructive posting.

11. Discussion of forum moderation is prohibited.

The discussion of EVE Online forum moderation actions generally leads to flaming, trolling and baiting of our ISD CCL moderators. As such, this type of discussion is strictly prohibited under the forum rules. If you have questions regarding the actions of a moderator, please file a petition under the Community & Forums Category.

Thread closed.
