I gathered materials and manufactured 1 Afterburner. I noticed (in the parenthesis) after I manufactured 1st burner, to copy. So, I purchased in market another Afterburner blueprint, i tried to copy it, can't make copies because no facilities make copies. Then I realized i needed a Civilian Afterburner Blueprint, not a plain Afterburner blueprint. Civilian prints are not available in the market. What do I do, I cannot finish mission?

The blueprint you were given has enough runs on it to complete the mission, just use that. Put it in for manufacturing and specify as the number to make the number you were requested to make.

You couldn't make copies because you were given a blueprint copy and copies cannot themselves be copied. There is nothing in that mission which requires you to make blueprint copies, just to manufacture off the copy you were given. The (copy) just indicates that the blueprint is a copy, not an original

The copy you were given has 2 runs on it, once the first run is complete you will get the copy back with one run remaining. AFter finishing that second run the BP will have been consumed.

Unfortunately, i did not select 2 copies, the blueprint disappeared. As far as the incorrect blueprint that I purchased, i think it was a "blueprint" and not a copy, I was told in the rookie channel that making copies was worse than getting teeth pulled, hardly no one makes copies.

You will get the BPC back when you finish b uilding that Civilian Afterburner

But instead of being a 2 run BPC, it now will be a 1 run BPC and you can set up the next job and after that finish the mission.

---

rookie help is wrong, LOADS of people are making copies.

You can only make copies, in a station with copy facilities or a POS. And because of this, in high-sec all the copy runs are busy.
Also, you can only copy Blueprint Originals. YOu can't make a copy of a copy.

J'poll, I appreciate the help. I manufactured 1 afterburner with the blueprint I was given, it disappeared immediately after I made the 1 afterburner. I checked in every inventory, I do not have the blueprint to make another. And as you know, i cannot proceed with anymore missions from that agent.

Do you have the finished afterburner?

If not, goto the sci&Industry window (Alt-S). On the jobs tab press the get jobs button. Select the afterburner and press deliver at the bottom (if its ready).

This will give you your afterburner and the blueprint copy with the 1 remaining run on it. They will be in the items hanger at the station.

Archibald, yes I have the 1 I made, and I bought 1, but the 1 I bought was not "Civilian". Oddly, both are Identical, neither say it is Civilian!

If neither say its civilian, how can you have the one you made?

The blueprint for that tutorial is a special one that makes 2 civilian afterburners. You can either set it to make 2 at the same time or if you only set it up to make 1 you need to wait until the job is finished. When the civilian afterburner and the blueprint are returned to you, then you use it to make the second civilian afterburner.

If you are sure the tutorial has bugged on you. File a petition to ask a GM to reset the mission for you. This is done through the f12 help menu.

Before you do that though, just double check you haven't left it in the cargohold of a ship, or in a different station.

That's a 64,000 dollar question! I only made one from the blueprints, and I only bought one! Neither say Civilian, both are 1nm Afterburner I. And, I can't stack them. Ok, just realized i cant stack those. :)

If neither says Civilian.

A. You didn't create a civilian afterburner.
B. You haven't completed the job and thus your civilian afterburner is still in the manufacturing line.

If you used the blueprint handed to you in the tutorial it IS a civilian.

If it isn't, you either used a non-tutorial blueprint or you haven't completed the manufacturing job (you don't get it automatically when it finishes, you have to manually finish the job).

Ya know, I thought the same thing, but, I only made one and I only bought one. I bought one because I had no blueprint to make another. I am confused.

Are you absolutely sure you have delivered the manufacturing job?

It sounds like you have set the job up and are trying to use an afterburner you had in your hanger plus the one you bought to finish the mission.

Alt+S opens the sci&ind window go to the jobs tab and press the 'get jobs' button. What appears in the list?

Have you actually accepted the mission from the agent. Talk to the agent and look which part of the mission is showing as uncompleted.

My guess would be that you looted it from a wreck during one of the combat missions.

And no worry about the confusion, the 'Delivery' mechanic for Industrial jobs is really strange.

Happy it has been resolved.

Although 1 thing still puzzles me. It's weird you found the solution in post #14 that you haven't completed the job. Where as in post #7 Archi already asked the same thing and you replied you did deliver the job in post #8.

Maybe next time, double check with the information given to you if you haven't missed a step.

But as Thomas said, the manual delivering of jobs is a mechanic that is weird and to make it even worse. The tutorial never mentions you have to manually collect the job itself, which is where it gets very confusing and annoying for new players.

Just a little point:

You can often buy civ stuff from the local market (at grossly inflated prices)

Hand those over to the agent instead of building them...
