The reason BS only have 2 plates is so the logi can 'catch' them. That is the amount of eHP they need to survive while the guardians/carriers lock them up and land first rep. Baddons can sometimes even get away with fitting a single plate because they have such high resists

Assuming you broadcast for rep once you are yellow boxed it only takes maybe 10 seconds before reps start landing, and not all the enemy fleet will have even got their guns on you in that time.

People who fit ships like you are the reason RR breaks, a guardian repping someone with 85% resists is 3 X more effective than one repping someone with 55% resist, and someone in a mega will almost always be primed fairly early on in a fight.


Also if all your guardians are jammed / other chances are your fleet has bigger problems than your awfully fit mega



Then why do I not see more resist oriented fittings? all I see is someone putting faction mag stabs (below) on an already cookie cutter setup. Also your quoting one resist stat now the other three. The setup has EXACTLY the same amount of resists as a regular mag stab/plate setup.

68% thermic, 68% kinetic, 75% em, 55% explosive. If you swap the large trimark for the anti explosive rig it winds up being 64% explosive resist with 158k ehp.

I did a paper numbers crunch of this vs a 1406 dps Gank mega with 110k ehp. The quad plate beats it barely. This mega plus guardians equals something quite awesome. Welcome your input / trolls/ screams.



With logis 1 plate 1mfs (or 2) 2 te's (or 1 if 2 mfs), why would you loose dps/range/Speed if you have logistics?

Logistics = even MOAR gank AND less tank !

Because you may not always have a logi pilot or you may be primaried cause your simply well in a mega. Gaining 100 to 150 dps hardly outperforms having another 50k ehp. With the extra armor you stay in the fight longer to keep applying dps. As far as the speed issue with three plates on tq you do 768 m/s and roughly 860 to 900 now with 2 plates. Hardly counters the argument about speed. Essentially with the changes your taking advantage of the agility boost.


If you are worried about dropping before the logi get to you, you are bringing the wrong ship. Blasters have no place in large scale combat, plain and simple. If this (dropping before your logi catch you while having two plates) is still an issue in small scale combat, shoot your logi.

Since most of this thread has been based around resists with guardian support, I threw together something quick since I gotta run to work. Anyways here's the numbers/ fit.

x7 Neutron Blaster Cannon T2 void ammo


Quad Lif Booster Rockets, Fleeting Propulsion inhibitor, Heavy Electrochemical Cap injector, Faint Warp Disruptor

2 EANM T2, 1 Adaptive Nano Plate, DCU T2, 3 1600 rolled tungsten plates.

2 large trimarks, 1 large anti explosive rig

ogre t 2 drones.

this gives you the same dps (975), a little quicker speed than 822 M/S (one less plate).

EHP comes out to 150k with 78% EM 71% Thermic 71% kinetic 68% explosive resist.

Look below at the revised fitting. I typically run a 3 mag stab gank fit anyways. I have yet to fly the plate variation except on sisi. So please refrain from being a whinny little cuss. kthnx Twisted

I'm looking forward to the patch with the mega. The idea of a max gank budget mega with damage rigs seems pretty fun as a throwaway solo ship.

It is a bit of a brick but the stats are impressive.

I think if you drop a couple of the guns to ions and use a adaptive nano plate then you can fit a heavy neut.

On sisi a 3 mag stab Gank mega with trimark rigs comes out to 1406 dps. Will freaking rock your world man.

If you swap the heavy injector for a medium im sure you can fit a neut.
