the only reason then miners are being ganked.. is for

- PVP.. ( note : killing the competitor to keep your prices of ore stabilized or at your accepted price range is both smart/tactical/profitable )

by killing i include wholesale buy-outs .. price gouging under-selling.. etc. ( PvP in the market )

almost everything you buy in EvE is player made..

only a few blueprints & skill books are ever generated by the game.. and in limited numbers.

Ore being important doesn't change the fact that mining is dumb and not something new players should be doing. They could be making more isk doing almost any other activity.

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise

I don't see why people don't do research like I did. I researched this game for WEEKS before subscribing. I knew most if the risks and what I wanted to do as my Eve career.

CODE is just a bunch of pirates; smart, organized pirates. It doesn't help to rage at them because that is exactly what they want. Dust yourself off and get back on your feet, you don't even have to talk to them.

Hello,

Gonna make this short, new players, do not subscribe to this game for the ubers will **** you and the asteroid fields, giving u no chance to play.

Harrassment by players putting bounties on you for no reason is no way to welcome new players who have a hard enough time learning the game.

Like all games, EVE is too old with too many grumps having free time to screw other players.

I have uninstalled the game, and will follow up with a detailed explanation of why this skinners bag is too full.
That will be on my forums.

GL you old ubers, there will be no new blood for this game if i can help it.

As much as i hate to say it...this is EvE.....

At some point CCP is going to have to consider creating safe zones for new players, with explicit warnings on the gates.
I don't like it, it's not really EvE, but with CCP trying to compete in a market with lots of new stuff coming out, they do need to consider options in bringing more players to the game.

It would be helpful to know if Dinsdale Pirannha has trisomy 21, it would explain a lot of his posts and people would deal with him in a different way.

The sooner it can be figured out what Dindin is suffering from and the sooner he can receive treatment for it, the better off everyone will be. Straight

new player here.

Alot of you seem to be real assholes.

Despite your thinking "lol it's a game", you're still defined by how you act and what choices you make.

You may have a differentiation between your in game and out of game persona, but for those of us who don't have that luxury(or punishment) of knowing you out of game, this is all we see.

This is GD, you need a thick skin to survive in here. If you want friendly chat and informed help check out the New Citizens Q&A forum, you'll get some of the people you see as assholes in an entirely different light.

As for being assholes in game? It's a survival trait P

The EvE special edition box really should have one of those 'Intel inside' bubbles on its cover, albeit with 'Assholes inside' instead. That would actually be marketing win IMHO, perhaps put the top bountied players photo there as well.

Don't just spit out generalities, give us some specifics.

What choices in the game are we defined by, hmm?

No no its not consenting, consenting is invitation to duel. As opposed to a character with many millions of skill points facing a nhew player with say 500k SP max. Sorry but eve is ****** up in that respect. Other MMOs have a levelling mechanic so that the new player has at least an equal footing to the older character/player.

Sorry, but you are simply *wrong*. This is a PVP game. The only place you are safe is while docked. Anything other then docked - all you can do is take steps to minimize your risk and keep your losses down.

Other MMOs have a level based system. Eve does not. Eve is not other MMO's.

The sad part about this - OP is doing it wrong. On my first Eve character, I was introduced to PVP in much the same way it sounds like the OP was - by random acts of violence in high sec when I was quite new. So I took the time to make social contacts, meet and talk to other players, do a lot of research and reading - and I found out that new players are more then able to defend themselves against this type of random aggression.

Instead of rage quitting, OP could be using this experience to learn how to defend himself better, and even how to join forces with others and get some good old internet space ship based revenge. It's easy. I don't care how many skill points some random ganker has, the EVE system provides the players with plenty of tools to level the playing field.

I wasn't going to reply but for the sake of a lively healthy debate -

in null or low sec then yes its a fair game, but new players I would highly doubt will be venturing out of high sec in their first couple of weeks.

However in high sec no you are wrong. You can invite someone to duel and if they accept then fair enough.

Otherwise if your a self centred douche who is just imposing your style of gameplay on others who have just started, ie thou shall PVP and do nothing else, then really that is borderline harassment, considering your character is already a few million skillpoints ahead.

You would go further in reaching out to and talking to new players rather than putting them off the game. A lot of MMos/online games do have a system in place for bringing new people into the game allowing the game to grow.

If you put people off the game, then the game will eventually dwindle and die off. Ive seen it happen t Planetside (before planetside 2 was even announced/released)

Eve has a steep learning curve. Whilst new players figure this out they should be allowed to do so of their own free will.

Sure I can take my 45 mill SP abaddon pilot and go gank new players mining, but where is the fun or honor in that ?

If someone reached out to me and offered to help me through the crap PVE content (which lets face it is awful in eve) then I wouldn't have started out mining when I started eve.

New players have to have that time to figure out what they want to do in game, not have playstyles of other people forcefully imposed on them.

We will just have to agree to disagree here. But I challenge anyone to start a new toon / alt and see how bad pve content is that you will soon want to just sit in an asteroid field mining.
