PoS Missile Batteries Shutting Off When PoS Reinforced

Does this still happen? Most of the information I found says it does but it all looks old and possible out dated. Wanted to confirm and if so, what's the point of missile batteries then?

They require CPU. Anything that requires CPU shuts off during rf. The point of missile batteries is to shoot missiles. POSes are perfectly balanced and require no changes whatsoever, or at least no one thinks they do.

One of those sentences may have been a lie.

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

For a moment i thought the POS in the title stood for piece of ****.

It would have been rather appropriate.

I been kicked out of better homes than this.

I see... So forget the bonuses the Caldari towers get, I'll have to buy another type of gun.... that's inconvenient.

It's not. Saves you the disapointment when your POS missiles start shooting at something. I think an MWDing battleship can cruise all day infront of a missile POS without getting any substential damage.

Each Cruise battery does 16.7 DPS, IIRC. You will struggle to tell the difference between online and offline batteries. P

Just fit EWAR and let(hire?) someone else do all the shooting.

YMMV

Like he sez.

Missiles (ugh) and turret based batteries shut off when the POS goes into reinforce at 25% shields and by this time all or most anchor-able defences outside the POS field will also be put into reinforcement. These can be re-enabled with armor logi (and the POS with shield logi) in order to prolong resistance against your foe but this is usually stop-gap unless you can mount a better defence when the tower comes out of reinforcement mode.

I'm of the opinion that all towers should have missile batteries. I don't like coordinating battleship bashing.

Can you hear them? They are calling to us. It is beautiful. http://thegreattichim.wordpress.com/
