Stars in EVE? Not twinkling.

Odd that the half-assed FPS has better star mechanics than the space game.

You may commence rioting now.

Stars twinkle because of atmospheric disturbance

Since ships in eve are in space you won't see this

Dust battles take place in said atmosphere

Twinkling stars do not make up for Dust sucking on a single platform.

I'll take my non-twinkling stars in a game on PC that doesn't suck.

This, exactly.

Working as intended, and one of the few aspects of EVE that actually follows the laws of physics.

So what are you complaining about OP?

Why a switch on/off? Because the new animation doesn't add anything to gameplay and it's graphically annoying. In other words, it's worse than bad: it's useless. Simple as that.     _ - Kina Ayami_

It's the dust that makes them twinkle.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Guy complains about a space game's star mechanics.
Demonstrates a lack of understanding of said mechanics.

Steve walks warily down the street,
with the brim pulled way down low
Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet,
machine guns ready to go
Are you ready, Are you ready for this
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat

Another one bites the DUST

No, you should strive for consistency. Failing that, you should strive for visual greatness.

I've thought plenty about it. Seems you folks haven't.

The pod tech is supposed to synthesize certain things that you would normally be used to seeing and hearing. Before getting a crappy 2d backdrop, you used to have stars that would twinkle. So that was a part of the technology.

When the backdrops were replaced, they stopped said twinkling. I did not see a chronicle about Uncle Joves Discount Podware taking over every capsuleer contract, so I have to assume this is simply a blunder on CCP's part.

I don't recall the old starbox twinkling, but I find the new nebulas to be visually greater than what we had prior, so not seeing the issue.

Perhaps you should re-read the lore before you go posting. The pod and hence the camera drones interface only gives a synthesized view of WARP travel, and JUMPS, due to our primitive human brains not being able to process what really happens, other than that it is a direct feed of your surroundings. So...again your ignorance is showing! Might want to cover that up.

You folks want more horrible proof? There is currently a messed up skybox that shouldn't exist in Dust, with a densely populated planet in the sky. This skybox shouldn't exist at all, as for it to exist you have to be fighting on either a moon or a station for it to make any sense. But you don't fight on moons or stations. Not yet anyway.

And in either case, neither of these have atmospheres to produce twinkling. Yet in this abomination of a skybox, twinkling happens. These stars, they twinkle on their own, baby. You have no choice but to accept Star Magic and realize you are the only ones left out.

Now revolt. I command it.

The lore says you hear sounds because the pod generates it for you

I'd hate to have Newtonian physics in the game

Oh, so Sound is magical too then? Well if we're playing a fantasy game, why are you so serious about science?

Though if we really want to have a Science Duel, I should probably bring up that your pod is clearly generating the color around the different Nebula as well. If not, I think NASA might have a few things to say about this.
