Why is my Golem ugly?

No really, why? The Raven (and esspecially the Navy Raven) look amazing, that angled wing design, AMAZING.

Now for the Golem, it uses the same hull as the Raven (in theory) yet its wings are straight and ugly. Isn't the idea of T2 hulls to be the same to the T1 equivalant? (except for the colours?).

For that matter, are there other ships that I never noticed before that look shape-wise differently from their T1 brothers? Was this done to account for the (frankly really "eh") Bastion transformation animation?

Despite what you may have heard there's only one rule of EVE:

1. T2 ships looking different is a good thing,
2. I thinkt he golem looks sick. Way better than the Raven, its just down to taste.

Kestral to Manticore (T1 Frigate to T2 Stealth bomber)

Manticore look much different than Kestral.

I guess it is down to taste, it's still strange though how it's one of the few that looks differently.

At least it's different. The Kronos, Navy Mega, and Mega look so similar it's rediculous.

Because most Caldari ships look like they were assembled by committee, on the installment plan?

You mean ugliness equals combat power?

EDIT: Despite that I still think my Golem looks awesome. Big smile

Well it's impossible to improve upon a Megathron hull.

Caldari State Best State

Also...

If you don't like the Golem but do like the Raven - then pilot the ******* Raven - why is this a problem?

Also...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's not our problem if the OP has ugly eyes.

I was more going for the old saying that dogs and owners grow more and more alike, but I suppose your interpretation is much less likely to be reported and removed. P

So let's go with that one for now…

Unfortunately EvE is rife with blocky, uninspired or plain ugly ship designs...my personal hit list...

Blackbird/Rook/Falcon: The designer was evidently limited to an 8 or 16 bit graphics program, or was playing too much Minecraft at the time

Moa: Seriously? Seriously CCP?

Osprey: Hahahahahaha. Is it a chicken? Taradactyl? Who knows, who cares. Kill it with fire.

Harbinger: Plucked-chicken front end, fabulously ugly.

All T3's: Just...blocky and ugly, with perhaps the exception of one Tengu variant. For example, that 'Bull Elephant' front end on the Legion with an Emergent Locus sub has me thinking the designers were truly on animal-inspired acid trips when doing Amarr ships...

Revenant: Space turd. Nuff said.

Revelation: Flying guppy, or some other animal/fish that escapes my conscious mind. What IS it with CCP's animal influences on ships?

Best looking ships:
Machariel, Megathron, Ashimmu, Hurricane, Scorpion, Raven, Arbitrator/PIlgrim/Curse, ALL Amarr Battleships, Hyperion, Gnosis, Stratios, Avatar, Erebus

If CCP took more design cues from the better looking ones above, and less from Minecraft they could really be onto something.

the raven is ****, fat ass tail... bulky, front is fine however, but look at that ship from behind just clumsy

golem is fine, but the tail is the same, thats the only issue

Actually many T2 ships have an altered hull to their T1 counterpart. Additional engines here (Zealot), different heat sinks there (minnie ships). It's just that the change is much more drastic on the Golem.

It kind of reminds me of a Delorean to be honest. What happens when it gets up to 39.34m/s (88Mph)?

I have a couple Golemns that are dead sexy. Not sure why yours is ugly. I can sell you one of mine if you are interested.
