Site despawn?

I was scanning things down and I find a sansha site. I google it since I haven't seen it before. The loot possibly being A type deadspace modules or succubus blueprints gets me all excited. I see I can't bring my battlecruiser in because it's cruisers max.

So I go get my destroyer that I do level 3's with. It's an algos.

I get through the first room, then I get to the second room. Not caring much about range I then get slaughtered. Well since I don't really have any cruisers fit I grab something tanked out thats sitting around and fly back, oh but WAIT the site has now poofed into another dimension. It's not there.

Now I have to fly to a market hub and buy combat probes to scan down my drones with the venture I flew over to grab another ship to loot my wreck.



Why did the site despawn? I didn't kill the end loot faction rat.

I lost an oracle for charging a site before, but worried the site would despawn I asked for help, when a friend in an oracle eventually gave up I flew out and took some time to grab stuff, then went back to finish the site and loot my things. It didn't despawn, it didn't disappear. IT STILL EXISTED WHEN I WENT BACK LATER AFTER IT HAD BEEN OPEN FOR HOURS!

I'm just a little angry it's gone. Are there any explanations as to why the game favors leaving one site over another? it wasn't complete.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

because the despawn is random, and sometimes you can find a site still there 1 hour after you left it, sometime warping to station to refill ammo and back is enought time for it to despawn.

Some expansion ago they added a triggered timer in exploration sites. When the timer is activated if nobody is (uncloacked) for 10-15 minutes (not sure exactly how long) inside the site they despawn.

They made this change to prevent some exploit.

You're not getting A type shizzle from a site you can run in an algos m8. At best you'll get some C types or probably faction.

I drain ducks of their moisture for sustenance.

You can get frigate A-type modules from such sites.

Welcome to EvE. I've had 10/10's poof on me. Don't be mad, it's a viking way of telling you to man up. Just think how satisfying it will be when you actually complete one and decent loot drops.

Getting a good loot drop could be on the first completion or many, many successful runs later Blink

I got a "Centi B type small armor repairer" and a sansha small repairer from one site I did in a regular rail thorax not long ago.


I guess Just don't leave the site without someone else in it first? :/

you can get frig sized A-type from those, rare but possible
