Hi.

I'm a little confused about what is and isn't allowed to be discussed in GD.

Is game balance allowed to be discussed? Am I allowed to say things are overpowered and should be nerfed?
Am I allowed to talk about in game groups and rivalries?

The topic has to be EVE related, but what aspects of EVE in particular are we prohibited from discussing?

Are we even allowed to discuss what's allowed in GD itself?

You're not allowed to post the same psychopathy thread over and over.

Trolling is prohibited Potato.
But entertaining for hisec players to play the "psychopath" card because they disagree with a PvP focused game.

Anyway, no derailing of the thread please, my questions are honest ones.

Yes it is entertaining, but you still can't post the same thread over and over and over, regardless of the topic. Also, in before the lock.

If you've been paying attention Potato you'd realise I only posted the thread once and it reached 150 pages.
My next thread was about how baiting and traps were OP.

Very different from the hisec one.

1) I don't pay attention to every post made by every single user on these forums. Anyone that does so would probably go insane.
2) I don't see any 150 page threads on the front page of GD.
3) Your other thread was closed because of all of the masterfully crafted baiting puns.

First rule of General Discussion Club is that we don't talk about what is allowed in General Discussion Club.

The second rule of General Discussion Club is [USER WAS BANNED FOR [REASONS] 403.2 - Read access forbidden.]

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

No. I'm pretty sure that "Hi" goes in either Out of Pod or EVE New Citizens.

Moderation may not be discussed, so this shouldn't be anywhere.

Yes, yes, and no. The last should go in Crime and Punishment, except when it's about "Grr Goons," in which case GD is fine.

Pretty much every EVE topic can be discussed (especially if there's a sub-forum for it.) However, you may not discuss who should die in a fire out of game.

No, see my previous comment about moderation. But you can try a petition.

Well that's a pretty easy answer. Stuff! You are allowed to post stuff. Whether it gets locked is an entirely different question.

GD is mostly about trolling. The challenge is to be able to syealth-trolling so to evade the censorship. We do it so to keep moderators always on their toes.

Something... something... warlord...

Honestly though man, my guess is that the mods see your threads, read the OP, and (knowing something about your posting history) figure the thread is a troll.

The 150 page threadnaught was also locked. There was some good discussion but was likely, at the outset, a troll thread.

Additionally, discussing moderation is a violation of forum rules and likely this thread will be locked.

So IBTL.

If you honestly want an answer to the question then read the forum rules specifically:

Quote:
5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

If this confuses you or you need additional clarification you should submit a petition and await a response.

The ISD/CCL are not "out to get you". Unless you're paranoid (as many warlords are), in which case they ARE out to get you.

Whatever the ISD of the moment feels is ok and not what they personally object to. This standard varies with each ISD. Basically, every post is a roll of the dice.

Kind of like RL cops, actually. They don't enforce the law - the enforce their personal moral code. A "good" cop may "let things slide" if it's minor and they don't personally object to it, while a "bad" cop harasses people just because they don't like them.

Same thing here.
