First death in Low-Sec...I feel so used.

Well, as a n00b, I knew I wouldn't last long in Low-Sec. I jumped in, thought I'd just kinda "get the feel" of it.

First Starbase I jumped to...red blinking guy with a skull...welp, time to leave. Jumped to an Asteroid Field...and he followed me. Again. And Again. Finally Jumped back to High-Sec. Whew.

Went BACK to the same Sector a little later. Approached another base. Different player....who had a Warp Disruptor.

It was literally PEW PEW PEW DEAD. I didn't even get ONE shot in.

He then chats: gf

Good Fight? More like Good Slaughter.

Anyway, the PvP cherry has been popped. Feels strangely...liberating.

And I AM keeping a spreadsheet of everyone who kills me as a n00b. I will get my vengeance! (after I've skilled up)

In Eve, gf actually translates as "get fcked," just want to clear up any confusion on that point.

Good luck with that. Odds are, after you've been around the block a few times you won't care in particular about who killed you, nor whom specifically you've killed.

OP, if you want to get more into PvP, I strongly recommend either joining a PvP corp or getting in touch with some people willing to enlighten you to the way of the pew-pew. You may also want to look up some blogs or guides on how to survive, and more importantly, defeat people.

Also, ,"gf" is just a customary courtesy. In your case it was probably an acknowledgement of "you tried", which at least in my opinion, is better than saying nothing (implying you're not worth the effort of typing two letters).

I thought that's what EVE was about? Abuse and Vengeance. Well, mainly abuse.

And to be clear, I'm not complaining. Nor am I discouraged. I fully expected to be blown into shrapnel...and wasn't disappointed.

Oh I know...just thought it was ironic...not much of a fight. Used to play Red Baron and we'd do the "S!" for saluting a fallen opponent.

It can be, if that's what you want.

I have found that eve is what you make of it. Some people build, some people trade, some people scam, some people steal, some shoot red crosses all day, some people pew pew, and some few help and enable others to build and pew pew.

There are, for instance, players that have generally never wronged another player in game. Some of them are extremely successful i.e. Chribba.

Reminds me of my first trip to Egghelende. Landed on grid at the station. Thought I was being cool by landing at 50k or so to "check things out." Hahahaha... apparently there are things called Artillery.

You already have that built in to the character sheet. Check your kill mails.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

Here "S!" is replaced by o7, or in the case of Brave Newbies 7o, because they're usually drunk, or so rumour has it.
