Thank you. Big smile I took some pictures of Meisa Kuroki as model for the character. It helps to study human faces before starting because of the complexity of the creator. To get a sense for the facial lines and proportions. IF you care for such things, of course.

He-man is a superhero, i.e. a character taken to such an extreme that even young kids are generally aware they can't emulate them. His physical characteristics are also there because they give the character utility. By contrast Barbie is depicted as an icon of beauty and fashion, something young girls are socialized to aspire to. He-man fights evil, etc. Barbie is shallow and is intended to look pretty.

There's a pretty big difference between the two.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

Dear EVE Online players,

When I am bored a little bit I often click around and look at the characters you guys have created. One thing according to the female characters is very ... prominent: It seems you guys mostly like big racks and half naked, skinny bodies.

I know that with a probability of 80 to 90% a man created the character. I am not a feminist. I think this a firstly a questions of aesthetics which of course depends on personal views. But I ask myself is this the imagination you have how a woman should be? This is not an attack on you guys. And I do not want to start a discussion of what you all thing is beautiful. I only wanted to show a conspicuity.

I do not tell you what to do. EVE Online is a free game for which you all pay. You can do what you want. I only wanted to give my opinion.

Regards.

Infinity doesn't have a big rack but I made her way back in 2003 on the premise that she was going to be a sort of pleasant looking and speaking sociopath. She is skinny but starved looking skinny lol. We had different graphics back then for avatars though, not like these.

I still prefer her not to be overly sexualized though, doesn't work for her character.

OP, honestly breast size is not that important to female attractiveness in my opinion.

A great many women who are renowned for their beauty have small breasts.

Btw shut up infinity, I love you but you and I both know your character is about staring into space blankly, to enhance the trolling power of your posts (and I think it's a cool idea).

I know this was posted ages ago, but I just noticed this post. Did anyone else get a giggle out of the idea of a male player having cleavage??

I live in one of the fattest countries on earth. Male cleavage unfortunately exists.

As far as the ingame breast size slider goes, its just for people to compensate for not being able to find the Jin-Mei bloodline button.

Smuggnes is overrated.

I am all in favor of the permanent frown, so I don't need to say "really?" whenever someone says something stupid.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

I wonder why people use HE-man as example when they should use G.I. Joe as example. (or use Ken from Barbie)

The reason i posted it's more about the kind of toys kids from different genders plays with, in regards to the OP, since normally males would care way less about playing with unrealistic "toys" (not like this is bad) than females, than getting into something more on the ground, practical and more in touch with reality (and just in case my english is striking me back, i DON'T mean barbies, i mean criticizing the barbie). There are excepctions of course.

I wasn't trying to convey what you think i did, but thank you for pointing it out.

Your over analyzing the purpose He-man serves in that picture, because the message is about imagery, not the difference in what He-man's activities are compared to that of Barbie. Its also about what males are excpected to conform to when they grow up, just as girls are expected too with Barbie. The difference is, only Barbie is the one getting called out for it while He-man is not.

I'm not going to say that the use of that imagery is wrong, or that its right either. Only that the context of that particular photo's message is showing how completely one sided the attention that type of imagery is getting, even though its being used on both genders.

Honestly the boobs in this game don't quite compare to the boobs in most games. I don't honestly remember where on the slider I was but I don't remember them being outlandish.

Despite the fact that I am a female who also finds other females attractive I personally don't understand the draw to over sized breasts. Proportion is far more important than size to be perfectly honest. Most games do not have a bust size or crotch size bar for a good reason though. Wasn't there a Wildstar outrage over boobs not too long ago? As a post-feminist I honestly don't care if women are portrayed with large breasts as long as there's an equal portrayal of small breasts.

Of course I say all this will the full intention of getting implants myself as soon as I have the capital to do so. Ask anyone that doesn't have D-cups if they would rather have small boobs or big boobs and they'll opt to go up. For the most part. According to my morning talk show radio station.

Wait why are we even talking about this? My spaceship doesn't have boobs on it.

The boob slider?

Have you guys looked at the turret and missile p*** in this game? There's really no comparison.

Lord. cba to read 27 pages of this. But I'll comment on it.

I have 4 characters. Every single one of them has a background story, or at least some sort of descriptive addendum I could put in his or her bio, even if I choose to or not. Their appearances fit the character.

This dude was supposed to look something like Michael Ironside.

Got a random minmatar alt that was supposed to look like Wesley Snipes.

Got a market/RP Amarr holder alt that is a closet supporter of Uncle Sansha.

Got a indy alt that looks like some poor street waif that somehow managed to claw her way out of the gutters and make something of herself. I specifically did not give her big breasts. She is thin. But not because she is super-model Barbie. She is thin on account of her background.

I don't RP. But I find it helps to have a story or some background when deciding how a character will look.

I see some good-looking female avatars in this game, where the picture seems to be of someone with personality. The female players often appear to put some work into giving their characters life.

But the default look of a female character in this game tends to be Barbie, while the males seem to achieve a sense of character more easily. I don't really think that playing Barbie in space was the dream for most of you guys out there. I blame a poor quality character creation process that CCP ought to take an artistic look at.

Even thin waists and breasts of whatever size can be part of someone lifelike.

Some is the key word.

Most seem to be made by this method. Random, random, max breast, thruster pose, zoom out, take picture.
