I had to do a double take... first time through the rum-soaked brain saw: "GM kindly booted me into a Super..." Shocked

From what I have seen anyone can instantly leave the Corp if they choose to do so (there used to be a question about directors being able do to this) but this only works if you are joining an NPC Corp.

If you want to avoid having the break with the NPC Corp in your employment history and instead directly join another player corporation you still have to wait for the 24 cool down after removing roles.

Can I point out that there are still cases of the 24-hour thing? I left my corp to go into FW the other day, I still had to wait 24 hours to join FW after "preparing to quit". It wouldn't let me join until then. I wonder if I had tried quitting the corp manually if it would have changed it

just pointing out that that still happens, whether or not it was intended

Confirming that it still happens, as previously mentioned I got the 24-hr timer when leaving my player-run corp, trying to get placed into an NPC corp.

If I had known this was improper mechanics, I would've filed a support ticket to expedite my leaving corp. Ammzi is right, you need to know your game mechanics.

I met a mechanic once. He tried to check my oil....with his "dipstick".

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

You can quit your corp any time without a 24 hour delay, we changed that around mid last year sometime (I can't remember exactly when).

However being kicked from corp by a director still requires a 24 hour wait if you had roles.

EDIT: Right click yourself -> Quit Corporation (in a sub menu iirc)

should be the other way around. ceo can kick anytime, you have to wait. esp if your a blood corp theif. but meh, its a start, now let me kick any member, anytime, for any reason, and i'll be happy.

That will never happen. Reason: people were being kicked while in space and being shot by a war target (or better yet, being called primary by a fleet). Result: the person doing the shooting gets CONCORDed. So CCP made it so you must be docked to be kicked or to drop.

But what CCP could do: Make the kick order become a pending order. It gets automatically executed when the person being kicked does one of:
Dock.
Jump (by any means).
Enters warp.
Logs off, including downtime.

Actually you've never been able to kick online corp members who were in space. They either needed to be logged off or docked up, its been like this since beta.
