Baiting is overpowered, it needs a serious nerf— traps are too good.

Yeah but they can use a new pilot for the bait to counter the last point.

Hi.

I'd like to present my opinion that baiting in EVE is way too strong, and should be nerfed.

The worst part about baiting in EVE is, often times you have no way of knowing (short of spies in your enemies' comms) that a trap is about to be sprung.

There are many ways you can set up traps in EVE.
You can have people bridge in from a black ops or titan, you can jump caps in with a cyno— you can even have dictors logged off near the bait ship and perform a "loginsky" manoeuvre to pin down heavy ships.
CCP have recently buffed traps by adding the mobile scan inhibitor.

Imo, changes should be made that make setting traps more difficult, and makes bait attempts more transparent, so that with diligent scouting and intelligence gathering you should have a high chance of discovering your enemies' plans.

We should have a module that cloaks an entire gang except the ship using it, removing all the other gang members from local, while cloaked your gang auto travels at the speed of the ship fitting the module and cannot be de cloaked. When you're engaged you can tackle your target and deactivate the module and your gang un cloaks, the cloaked ships have no scan res reduction, and no sensor recalibration delay.

The only downside to this uber cloak module is it locks your ship in place for 10 minutes although it would be able to be fit to any ship in game, even newb ships.

In case you're slow that's what cynos are. Probably the most OP module in game. I use BLOP's but not going to try lie and say cynos are fine though.

Isn't the whole idea of a trap exactly what I underlined? Not much point of a trap if people know it's there.

I'm going to have to go with - working as intended - on this one.

Baiting has always been part of the warlord repertoire.

Most warlords in the modern era do in fact use the mobile scan inhibitor

Baiting is not the issue. It's the ability to magically transport a team many systems away on top of a person to overwhelmingly kill them.

My opposition to it is that it's much to easy to fit, much to cheap to use and has no negative drawbacks to it like cloaks do and most of all reduce willingness to engage in spontaneous PvP due to "it's a trap???"

If you would be opposed to my gang cloak module suggested you should be opposed yo cynos as they are.

I think ships using cyno should have a temporary recalibration delay just like cloaks do, they should be much harder to fit on non-Recons / non covert ops since the role they perform is a covert ops role .

Dude, what? You don't think people track things like Titan pilots? Heck knowing this game there's probably a list of every Titan pilot with an active sub in the game.

Hi, my name is I Love Boobies, and I don't know how to master bait yet. The closest I have ever come to master baiting was the time I sat in a stealth bomber by a can in a belt, and blow people up when they tried to take the stuff. It wasn't very satisfying. I need to learn to master bait. I think it would be very fulfilling. Can you help me master bait?

This is a contradiction. If you COULD see what the enemy was doing, you wouldn't need strategy.
