Just curious what others out there are doing:

I do a lot of solo missions (lvl 4 atm), but find switching agents to be a little tedious ...

Fly your BS over there, pod-fly back, fly your salvager over there, pod-fly back, fly your hauler over there (if you're not near enough to a hub to haul your salvage / loot back easily).

Am I missing something, or is changing agents / stations just painful?

Train an Orca. just haul everything that way. Only problem is potential rigs but the Noctis doesn't really /need/ rigs, they're just handy. Hauler can just compact down anyways. The Battleship will be a problem as they're /slightly/ too big for the ship maintenance array.

As suggested, unless you can fly a freighter (or have an alt who can), changing agents is a pain. If you're moving far I highly recommend red frog freight as a cheap and quick way to get everything moved in one go. *Goes off to find a link to their thread*

Those guys are great, I use them all the time. Sometimes it'll take up to 48hrs for them to move your stuff, but more often than not it's all done in 12-24hrs :)

Buy a Noctis and DPS ship for each major agent you like to run with? Or at least 2 of the three.

1. Haulers are uber cheap, no reason to have extras. your return on investment will be less than one lvl 4
2. Noctis is a bit more expensive, but still, it will pay for itself in one night of missions at least.
3. DPS ship depends on what you fly. But if you already got a duplicate of 1 and 2 you are down to 1 ship.

Cheaper than an Orca, no additional training.

This answer seems the easiest / cheapest by far. Hadn't thought of building up a fleet for multiple agents, but you're right ... a fully fitted hauler is < 10M and a fully fitted Noctis (IIRC) wasn't that bad ... 20M? So pretty cost-efficient if I keep the number of agents fairly low ...

Thinking the epic arc centers plus the main mission areas I run regularly.

Not bad. And I can even start with just the hauler in each and slowly build my way up. I like it.

If you have one account, this is probably the way to go. If you have two accounts, one will manage your Noctis and a hauler, while the runner flies the mission ship. You only have to ferry back for one ship, bring a shuttle in the Noctis rather than pod fly back for the hauler; it's faster

Leaves only the fresh scent of pine.

Could I ask, purely out of interest, why you run missions for different agents in parallel? I've tried to come up with a reason but can't really think of one... Don't get me wrong, I've got standings with a few different agents and factions on different characters, but as far as I can recall I've always done missions for a particular agent / corp / faction in serial rather than parallel. You mentioned the Epic Arcs, but they're a once in 3 months thing so I figure that's not necessarily it....

I just wonder if you know something I don't! Big smile

Good question ... no particular answer. In general I don't run /truly/ parallel. I often switch after I get the storyline mission from one particular faction.

It's a combination of competing goals (for instance, grinding standings with multiple factions) and wanting to see something different. Also, as I'm increasing from Lvl 2 -> 3 -> 4 as I gain standing for that corp, you have to switch agents.

I also jump over to help friends out with their missions, and if I were to bring multiple ships along (though I usually would only need one or two at most), those travel times get incredibly tedious.

Not one of those (I think) is a really good answer. Mostly, I found it very annoying to switch agents, and wondered if I was missing something, myself!

I can understand that. I have been starting to work with multiple agents/factions in a long term effort to get my standings up with all 4 factions.

However when grinding standing with a particular corp from 1-4 I basically just blitz the lvl 1,2,3 missions. Level 1-2 missions aren't even worth salvaging. Lvl 3 maybe, but since i can run them so fast its quicker just to blitz them until I can hit level 4's. That leaves me with only one ship to run around with.

Also, your noctis costs are low. but they are still a cheap investment that will pay for them quickly salvaging LVL 4's

I think you're right. I don't find myself salvaging on lvl 2's at all except for a rare named ship now and then, and probably will stop salvaging 3's now that I'm actively doing 4's.
