Your characters will only be involved in the faction war if you choose to have them join it.
Also, this is a question for the newbie section of the forum.

Characters in an NPC corp are only at war with each other if they have joined "Faction Warfare".

Otherwise they can hang out and be bros all they feel like. I do this myself sometimes.

Your chosen race have actually nothing to do with any gameplay unless you are a diehard roleplayer.
The wars between factions (as the one above me said) is just affecting those joining Faction Warfare, so you are safe (in that regard).

There is also the thing about standing to the respective faction (there police will come after you if your standing is very bad). You do not need to worry about this for some time though )especially if you are to do mining and indy stuff :)

And it is perfectly fine asking in here too, just be prepared that there is a lot of trolls, haters, elitist, evil, etc etc people playing this game

Edit: srry i dont give pve answere's, but heres how you can do pvp:

You only get to war in with the faction corps if you sighn up for faction warface in a faction station.

For solo pvp with 2 accounts you are looking for e-war + damage or heavy damage.

Being caldari and gallente, i would choose for falcon and some dps with little buffer, anything bigger than a destroyer.

It rly depends what you want to do, small to med targets? (dictor + falcon) med to large (ewar +dps)

Next is the tactic, picking on travelers or stationary ppl (plexers/ratters/camps ect) Also needs differant appoarch and thus ship types (travelrs bubbles + fast lock + cans ect) (stationary probes ect)

Don't listen to this guy, and don't call it solo. The only thing you achieve by calling playing in parallel with an alt "solo" is to invite "playing with yourself" jokes and the hate of people to whom you are clearly not solo. If those are your objectives that's all well and good, but expect consequences if you can't stand up to the hate.

So just don't call it solo. It's "with an alt". All is fair in love, war and Eve, but bald-faced lying is still an asshat move.

Your character's racial beginnings have no bearing on gameplay in any respect other than for RP purposes, should you choose to take part in such a thing.

If you insist on self torture by mining, please do not do it in low sec. You will never make even you ship worth of minerals in low sec, before you are killed. Also, the difference is very little to high sec.

I suggest if you want fun to join faction warfare with one char and use the other one as support/hauling etc. You make waaay more isk in FW than you ever would mining or missioning in high sec.

Participating (or not) in a war makes sense now - it's good that I have a choice here unlike a wardec with Corporations.

I'm going with Caldari b/c I currently run missions for Gallente and almost every mission I do involves shooting down Caldari ships - I'm just curious what Caldari "think" about Gallente ... :)
