Greetings!!! I come to you folks once again for advice!

Partly based off of some feedback from corp/other thread/and 'cause it looks so cool, I went for a Stratios to learn how to get into exploration.

Fitting currently stands:

Highs:

4x Heavy Modulated Energy Beam Is
1x Expanded Probe Launcher

Mid:

1x Experimental 10MN Afterburner I
1x Data Analyzer I
1x Relic Analyzer I
2x Cap Recharger IIs

Lows:

1x Reactive Armor Hardener
1x Internal Force Field Array I
1x Capacitor Power Relay II
1x 400mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates
1x Medium Inefficient Armor Repair Unit

Rigs:

1x Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I

Armor Damage resistances no active mods

58% EM dmg resistance
46% Thermal dmg resistance
46 Kinetic dmg resistance
25% Explosive dmg resistance

Armor Damage resistances with active mods

69% EM dmg resistance
60% Thermal dmg resistance
60% Kinetic dmg resistance
44% Explosive dmg resistance

With everything active, capacitor depletes in 4:15, cap stable without afterburners.

I am ever so a newb when it comes to fitting ships, so I am not quite sure where to take this. First, my plans for this ship for now are almost strictly hisec exploration while I get my relevant exploration skills leveled and cloaking leveled to try and survive in lowsec. This also gives me some practice with cloaking too before I need to use it in lowsec.

I fly mostly in Amarr space, and face mostly sansha and blood angels.

I'm not sure if it is better to use beam or pulse lasers with this ship. With beam lasers, my MF crystals have a falloff range of 30km and optimal of 21. I forget what my falloff/optimal ranges where for pulse lasers where. I do like shooting things at range, I am not sure that the pulse lasers give enough of a tracking boost to really help with the closer range.

Most of my skills have been put into flying amarr ships and lasers. Analyzers will be upgraded to tier II as skills allow. I am mostly running tier 1 drones. Currently working towards upgrading drone skills to field Garde and Warden drones and give those a try. I'm also planning on working towards maintenance drones. I figure I can recover from fights faster, and repair combat drone's armor with the armor maintenance drones. I use a mobile tractor unit, hence no tractor beam on the ship. I am also running with salvage drones.

I am completely lost as to what to put into my last two rig slots. I don't know if I should put something in that enhances exploration, or guns, or what.

I can't think of what else to add, any question or additional info that you guys need, just fire away.

Thanks!

o/ hi Aelia, just a quick one whilst i look on eft, you dont need an expanded probe launcher. Just the 'Core' will do and is a LOT easier to fit... the expanded probe launcher is used for PvP.

edit:
Ok... the Stratios is a great ship in that is so versitile and the key to compliment that is a 'Mobile Depot' in your ships cargo. With that you can change your fit at any time to deal with whatever you come across... want to do a combat site, fit for tank/damage.... doing an hacking sight fit for speed with analyzers etc.
This way your fit is always optimised for what your doing and isnt trying to do 10 things at once.

No Worries

Yikes!

That fit... not brilliant, to be honest.

First things first: Get your cloaking and drone skills up, ASAP! There's absolutely no compromising on that, not if you want to use the Stratios effectively. And take both Amarr and Gallente Cruiser skills to 4.

Next, focus on being able to use T2 tanking modules. T1 might be okay for high-sec stuff, but won't work once you get to low sec.

Also, Stratios is overkill for high-sec exploration. You won't need anything more advanced than a Magnate for that role, to be honest. The Stratios' combat capabilities make it good for low-sec ratting, DED 5-6/10, etc. in addition to exploration, so if you're going to do that sort of stuff, then investing in a Stratios is a good choice. Otherwise, it is a waste of ISK.

This fit is a good template; you'll naturally end up making your own alterations as you go along and get more experience flying the thing.

BTW, I'd suggest flying about with the Vexor to gain some drone-boat experience before jumping into this thing. And what ChromeStriker said is true; you won't need the expanded probe launcher; just use the regular old Core Probe Launcher, possibly with SOE probes.

Good luck!
