After finishing a long arduous tutorial, I am seemingly interested in the military career path for pve, but I do not know where to go after the tutorial. I keep reading that I HAVE to be in a corporation for that, and they would charge you 5 mil ISK (from both chats and websites I have been lurking around for answers). So what is the best advice, tips you all can give me for the military career path in eve online? Thanks in advance.

You are in a corporation. Go forth and mission, my son.

"military career path" is old school CCP disconnected nonsense

whatever you think you want to do, join groups to try and accomplish it. if the group you join doesnt satisfy your desires, then join a different one. if you realize groups cant offer what you desire, then adjust your desires.

Only scammers take fees for corp entry.

Solo PvE is like solo Facebook, only half as much fun.

You can always join Brave Newbies, EVE University, Red vs Blue, or some factional warfare corporation for free, no matter your skill level. You can even join the Factional Warfare militia through the Factional Warfare NPC corporation, who share a "militia chat" and voice comms with other FW corporations.

If Chribba told you not to trust him, would you?

Where exactly do you keep reading that you need to be in a corp to mission... and that it costs 5mil to join a corp?

Just wondering. I want to know if that entity has a forum.... so that I may spread my special brand of wisdom to them.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Once you are done with the career missions I would advice you to do the Sisters of EVE epic arcs which will give you write a bit of ISK, standings and missions to keep you busy for a bit.

For joining a Corp. .I have no idea who told you you have to pay, in general this is not the case even tho some will try to scam you saying theirt specific corp had an entry fee. Are you sure it was not a skill point requirement?

If you want help on finding a corp I suggest that you read over this guide.

In other MMOs, after you've done the starter quests (which is our tutorial agents' missions), people usually grind for higher levels and better equips. Then you get to join mini-communities when you enter the next-tier maps, and you get to grind levels with others.

Our equivalent places for mini-communities are:

Trade Hubs
Mission Hubs/Loyalty Point farming
Starter system regulars
Red vs Blue
Eve uni
Rookie/Help chat
(active!) Player Corporations
Wardec/Merc outfits
Trade route gankers
Hisec Miner/Missioner gankers
Incursion fleets
Faction Warfare
Nullsec blocs
Wormhole residents
Lowsec/nullsec roaming fleets (Bombers Bar, etc)
Forum regulars
Out of game website developers (cerlestes, fuzzworks, eve-central, battleclinic, somer)
..and some other communities that I missed (i'm sure others can chime in)

Given that we really don't grind levels here (its more like farming ISK here), being part of one of these communities will greatly enhance your EvE experience. Maybe even try them all!

Sounds a bit like Goonswarm, bless their little cotton socks.

At the OP - you've hit on what I find most beautiful about EVE Online. That moment when you've worked your way through the tutorial, looked for a golden question mark and realised that it is not there. You can do whatever you like at this point. Find your way to an agent (Use the Agent finder) if you want to run PVE missions. Get involved with Factional militia for a special injection of fun - but as the others have said - do it with others. This game thrives when you play it with other people.

I'm going to get crucified for this but... My suggestion to you is as follows:

Take the Eve Personality Test.

If it comes up Bounty Hunter (as mine did), you can do this solo

You can do military PVE by finding an NPC corp that has Security agents and look at their Level 1 agents to start off.

This link can help.

In Gallente space, some recommendations from me would be Federal Intelligence Office or Federation Navy but you can pick any of them by specifying what Region you're in (Essence, Everyshore, Verge Vendor, Sinq Laison, etc) Always make sure you are cognizant of low-sec agents as the rewards will be greater but so too is the risk. It's also a good idea to take a look at the Corps LP Store and see if there is something in there that you might like to work towards.

As your standing with these NPC corps improves AND you train skills that make you more effective in combat you can move up to Level 2 agents which are a little more difficult and a little more lucrative.

Also, you can do missions for R&D corps like Roden Shipyards, DuVolle Laboratories, etc. This can set up a passive income stream that makes ISK whether you're playing your character or not. It does require an investment of time and skill training. It is also not as lucrative as it once was.

There is also a New Citizen forum where others may have already answered these questions and you might find some useful suggestions there as well.

One other thing to add:

If you choose to go down the path of HighSec Mission Running you will want to get into a corp with a 0.00% tax rate or train Corporation Management to Level 1 and create your own Tax Haven corp.

That way you'll see more of your ISK instead of giving it to your NPC Corp.
