Just saw the news article.

What if the container is still in space now? Does that mean it's a container that is meant to stay?

Are only those containers meant to vanish with downtime those that already vanished this or a previous downtime?

OK, my container that went missing had 400 Plex in it along with several hundred billion worth of Faction Mods...

Any unanchorable freight container (this means they literally have the words "freight container" in their name) is supposed to disappear every downtime. If yours did not for some reason, I would recommend you remove the items from it just in case. If it's one of the containers you have anchored in space, it should persist.

Also, we will of course check to see if you actually had the container before it vanished.

The logs show nothing....

My Freight Container had a Nyx with officer fittings in it. Please return it to me in Jita 4-4.

Could it be that "The Starbase Factor" is coming into play here?

To avoid disrupting logistics as much as possible, we decided to give Starbases a protective field from all Fedos, Dustmen and other factors which might remove your stuff. This means that both generic junk as well as the anchorable containers will not be removed if left in close proximity to Starbases. This is regardless of who owns the item, but keep in mind that leaving things outside enemy Starbases is probably not a good way to safeguard them and their content. This setup should allow for most heavily used item caches to remain useful, hidden caches will have to be maintained and abandoned caches will leave the game freeing up resources for us all.

If not that means replacing the Freight Container with a bunch of GSCs. Seems inefficient in gameplay and server load terms.

Reimbursements aren't done on an honor system.Blink

After all, if the items don't exist then those non-existent items can't be returned.

I would also like to have a clarification on this.

I have an Enormous Freight Container floating inside a force field at a POS. It was still there as of this posting (17:10 Eve time).

Should I expect it to be gone after the next downtime?

Is there any particular reason why CCP keeps messing with people living on a pos? FIX DAMN POS before you take away any feature we use - even if it is a bug

I'm actually not sure if they should persist inside POS fields or not. It seems like they currently are remaining, so I am guessing they're supposed to stay, but I will check with game design on Monday to see if this is intended behavior or not.

It may seem a bit obvious in hindsight but try to announce this beforehand if it's getting changed.

Sorry. You clearly didn't follow the rules. CCP thanks you for your donation of BPOs towards those that are able to follow the rules correctly. No doubling of your BPOs unfortunately.

Ok, the containers persisting at a POS appears to be intended. It is those anchored in empty space that will be removed.
