Mining - Stuck on Tutorial

Hi

I am following my tutorial missions and I am completely stuck. Got through it to pick a career path, picked mining, since I figured making some currency would be good idea for the very start.

Finished the 1st mission where I obtained the Vel-something, reprocessed it, then sold it on the market.

Lo and behold, my next tutorial mission is to bring the reprocessed ore to the agent and now I am stuck. The tutorial said basically I can click anywhere on empty space (which I did) and look for asteroid belts.

When I right click on empty space, I see asteroid belts listed in the menu. I then select the closest belt, and select "Warp within 0 m".

However, when I arrive at destination, there are no visible asteroids there. None, zip, zero. No matter how many times I try over and over and with all the different belts available on that menu.

So how do I get to another asteroid to mine more of the basic ore to process it to the next material to finish my mission ?

And why is there no visible object when I am supposed to be within 0m of it once I come out of warp ?

Thanks

go to a different system.

Rookie systems get mined out quickly.

You could just buy whatever you require on the market if you want to speed up your tutorial.

If you feel like mining and reprocessing it yourself you can but keep this in mind.

Other people mine as well, so a system can be emptied which leaves you with 2 options:

1. wait till after downtime, the belt will reset and you can mine there again
2. go mine in another system, each system in EVE has asteroid belts, go explore and mine whatever you need

Good luck and fly hard o/

Reopen the EVE gate so we can invade Serenity. Goons can go first.

Other people have mined those belts out already today. The game is a single shard with no instantiation, so your actions affect other players.

Here are your options:
1) you can wait until downtime, and the belts in the systems will respawn.
2) you can go to the market to buy some from another player. I suggest you travel to one of the trade hubs instead of the newbie system, as the prices will be much cheaper (in order of size: Jita, Amarr, Rens, Dodixie, Hek).
3) (probably preferred, IMO) you go a jump or three to another system to mine there. Buy the skillbook "Drones" - should be cheap, and train it to one on your way and que it up to two (you won't regret it, every ship larger than a frigate uses some drones). Buy two warrior 1 or hobgoblin 1s (the other two will do if you have looted some from a combat mission already, but aren't as good). Put the drones in your venture's drone bay. Once you find a belt, deploy the drones and set them to aggressive, mine your stuff, and withdraw the drones when you're done.

It's been a while since I did that mission. If you're turning in the tritanium instead of the raw veldspar, you could mine scordite instead. You won't get as much trit per load, but you'll get other stuff you can sell, and these days it's more valuable per m3.

Glad you managd to find a solution to your problem...

You are going to save yourself a lot of time and trouble as you go along if you thoroughly read the tutorials and the mission briefings; it is stated quite clearly (I forget now whether by Aura or the career agent) that asteroid belts can be depleted and you may have to jump to another system to find what you are looking for...

I mention this only because some of the later missions have specific parameters that are easily fallen foul of if one 'quickly skims' over the information...

What someone suggested to me and worked great was taking one of the military missions and after clearing out the pirates there I had a ton of asteroids all to myself waiting for me. I spent the first few days of my game time just filling my hold with ore from the first few military missions.

For Minmatar and Gallente, Military mission 6 is of particular note here.

Mining in combat missions is usually pretty good, once the pocket is clear of NPCs you can usually far exceed the mission time bonus reward by mining the mission pocket out. You also get the belt to yourself, until someone scans you down.

T-Virus?

This dude is right. I had the same problem last week. I had to warp into another system to find them. I just made sure it was still high-sec. LOL
