Ammar station and ship pieces?

I think it says ammar are known for the quality of armor they make;
Yet some of the larger ships and stations look like salvaged scrapmetal and half ships.

Is there any lore behind this? Makes me curious.

if you see the design of the providence or the apocalypse for example, anotherp art of amarr is to use carapaces in white and gold while the underside is composed of the esential parts which are black painted. some amarr stations follow this pattern by having large "coverings" in plates while the inner side is composed of the facilities......
