hello

If you have a max scanning SP character flying a tengu with Tech II Mid modules for scanning and Scanning rigs. What is the smallest scan range you need to see what type of anomoly you have scanned down. Not to 100% just so you can see what kind it is

Obviously i want to know if i can do a single scan of a system and then move on instead of taking 6 signals to 2AU before realising that they are not the signals im looking for.

thanks

you obviously can't do a single scan because sigs spawn in different places within a system.

Never forget.

I believe it's still possible to determine what sites an signature can possibly be by scanning by baseband, this will not always give you a single result, but it will give an indication of which sites are worth scanning down.

2au is the minimum, even with virtues

With Tengu + Virture + All V, you can start to scan with 4 or maybe 8 AU scans around the red hot spots. With one single cycle you can see the type of 50% - 80% of all the signatures.

single probe at 32 (or 64) au still works as it had when DSPs were all the rage. the question is if it is worth it still, as scanning is so fast now.

The answer is no scanning required, because anomalies don't require scanning

Guess it depends on the amount of signatures and their location in relation to the size of the system, and whether or not you plan on going through the system again in the foreseeable future.

I personally don't do the nomadic style of exploration, and revisit systems some more frequently then others. I just scan down all signatures and save their location, this is practical for me but might not be for everyone.

Pedantically accurate, but not really helpful Big smile
