I would say Rifter i dont think it gets the credit it deserves its still a very good frig. This is also excluding the firetail btw.

Many people will say the slasher is the best. Others will go further and say the Rifter sucks. I too like the Rifter though with it's more generous PG and more armor tanking options. It can usually edge out the slasher in DPS. The Slasher does have the holy fourth mid though and is much faster.

Breacher is the best by far, fast, immune to tracking disruptor, good tank, can't be scram kited, drones for extra dps. In my opinion it completely outclasses the rifter. However the slasher is definitely a good ship but you have to capitalize on the speed.

Breacher is the only good minnie t1 frig. The breacher and tormentor are the two best t1 AB frigs with the merlin slightly behind. The other minnie frigs cannot even compare.

You can tank and brawl in it
You can scram edge kite in it
You can long range kite in it
You can shield tank it
You can also armor tank it
You can even dual tank it
You can dual prop it.
You are immune to TD's
You can somewhat operate under jams with fof's

It just lacks some fitting....which can be overcome by rigs / implants etc.

I fly Minnie T1 frigs almost exclusively. Yes, there's probably something wrong with me. Big smile

Breacher is very good for the reasons posted above, I can't really add anymore to that.

There's so much you can do with the Rifter - brawl, kite, anti-kite, rokkits, nos, neut, heavy armour, light armour, shield...
That unpredictability combined with an overconfident opponent (coz riftah is so lame, rite?) will play to your favour.

Slasher is a little fragile, but canny use of a TD in the 4th mid should ensure you rarely get hit Blink
However, compared to the Rifter there's not much versatility.

In order of personal preference then, I put Breacher and Rifter equal first, then Slasher.

Personally I prefer a Slasher over a Rifter these days, dual prop with scram/web or MSE/scram just makes good sense, the Breacher is indeed a powerhouse if used right but it's kinda off-beat in regards to skill training.

Most people will flame this but I've actually fallen in love with dual tank breacher, MASB and AAR gives it a very beefy while being really fast with decent damage. Your weapons/MASB takes up no cap so the Breacher has plenty of cap to spare for the AAR, excellent for 1 v 1s but you can sometimes get alphaed through your reps by gank destroyers or anything with more than 300dps which is the main drawback.

For a fun drinking game take any frigate Gavriel says is crap and go soloing in it sans OGB. It spices up slowly dying FW.

I've been flying the Rifter lately because people said it sucks. Seems ok to me. Not sure if there is a frig that has same versatility and DPS potential. I'll admit that the breacher is pretty dang nasty to fight against.

This. The rifter is a very versitile little boat.

For me the Rifter is slightly ahead of the breacher. Mainly becasue I have maxxed gunnery skills v almost maxxed missile skills but generally put them on par in terms of capability.

However!

The rifter is by far the cooler looking ship. I wish they would update the breacher model with something a bit more techy like the updated stabber models etc.

One other thing that no one has mentioned is that a 10mn AB rifter is a very nasty beast, as it achieves MWD type speed, even under scram, and pulsing this mighty afterburner will allow you to maintain AB like speeds as your lowest point. In a small gang or wolf-pack, they close and shut down most ships ability to inflict substantial damage quite quickly.

Breacher is the best minmatar frig, and in terms of total T1 frig lineup, probably only overshadowed by the Tristan. And you still have good chances against one.

To the rifter, ... well, it's a beautiful ship that got left behind on the balance iteration. It has been a sturdy little fighter before, and still is, but now all the other frigates got beef'd up, and pretty much every cruiser out there can - and will - easily pick apart even a good rifter pilot, unless failfitted.

However, when it comes to a 1v1 Rifter vs Slasher, my money is on the rifter.

The standard armor TD-Slasher takes close to zero damage from a Rifter and is able to control range. Frigates with more than 3 mids are OP.

Furthermore, I think that links must be removed from the game.

As an almost completely unrelated matter. Unlike what people would have you think in the missile threads, one of my Rifters under an overheated ABII was quickly decimated by RHMLs a few days ago. No TP, no web until I was already in structure - just BAM BAM BAM POP. After reading all of the missile threads here, I thought I would be invincible!

Also - someone post a low-sec slasher fit. I have fits for breachers and rifters. But I dont think I have fought a slasher since the rebalance.
