Give freighters a single low slot

Every ship except shuttles and freighters can fit something. A single low slot would allow for customization without a massive shift of capability.

Nerf cargoholds so a single expanded cargohold will give a greater amount of cargo without going over 1m m3, so assembled caps cannot sneak their way into highsec (Minimal development costs to make this change) Adjust cpu to allow highly skilled pilots to fit a t2 damage control, while lesser skilled pilots will be restricted to lower fitting requirement dcu's without the use of implants.

Piloted freighters can have a massive increase in EHP with a damage control activated
Armor mods can give a modest increase of EHP for the autopilot freighter
Expanded cargoholds can result in a decrease of EHP for hauling capacity,
Cap mods can decrease the time a jump freighter has to wait before jumping again without the help of docking in a station/remote cap support
Warp stabs can result in a modest increase of difficulty catching a freighter that has web support
Istabs can decrease total trip time
Nanofibers can result in giggles on killboards
Damage mods being fit can help show the dev's that freighters have been left out of industrial pvp fleets for too long. Why should badgers have all the fun?

Will it prevent ganking? Not in any way, prepared gankers will have no issue dealing with an increase in EHP of a piloted, non afk freighter.

I cannot think of any downsides of doing this, but i'd love to hear of any that I may have missed.

No, they need to just make freighters like every other vessel in the game, lows, mids, highs, perhaps using custom freighter only mods and rigs.

They balanced all other hauling vessels this way and they are fully capable of doing the same with freighters.

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.
