I strongly disagree. We are building something here that will need defending. The value of sourcing the minerals in Stain is that we can put ourselves in a position to build 20 Hyperions that could be used to defend Hub Zero. So any miner comming to help us with this will benefit.

7 hyperions fit in a jump freighter. Many more can slip through a wormhole chain in relative safety (especially if you're working as a proper group). There's also mission and ratting loot to source minerals from. which again are made more effective by working in a group. A battleship fleet is a good thing to have in reserve, but its not what you'll be using the most of. Your go-to pvp ships will be battlecruisers or below, hulls that can be jumped in by the truckload. You have a romantic attachment to mining it what can very reasonably be called the worst place in Eve to mine. The 30m/hour vs 150m/hour argument is a valid one, and the later number is very achievable. Players that can't do such missions can do whatever, but putting them to work as scouts, salvagers, and dps/logi assists would further both the income goal and the teamwork goal. Even Drac just above says gun mining is where its at.

I think Aaron is just saying that people who mine could be part of the team if they wanted.

In terms of the Hyperions, I had a specific job in mind for them and am not especially happy that its been mentioned on the thread, though I did not actually say not to mention it. I have all types of PvP and logi ships in my hanger, just saying...

Then perhaps your personality, your ego, and your credibility are probably a bigger hindrance to the project than the perceived unwillingness of others to break the mold and leave their comfort zone.

Again Aaron is just suggesting that miners from hisec could also help in their own way, I know the risks of mining in Stain very well, its not impossible, but it is a high risk venture!

Look, this will fail. It failed before and players arn't any different then before. You can't ever create a 'highsec' pocket in null sec. This is only possible by having 1000's of people helping out already for which the pocket will become to small and the isk will be to low. Also it needs a jita like market where te prices are not all far to high and everything is available.

Also the reachability of the systems is far to steep for new(ish) players. (old players youre not gonna get because there comfy and safe where they are. Be it mining/missioning in highsec. In an alliance in null/wh space. etc. Why would they go to a terrible unsave place when they already can do it where they are.)

The only npc place i can think of that this might work is syndicate. It's easily reachable, close to hubs and you can try to blue small groups for protection. Also there are normal faction lvl 4 agents all over the place.
Also there are a lot of groups there. If you keep prices as low as nearby hub prices the market is much better.

I don't think you guys have the interest of players in mind, but the interest of how much money you can make off of those players.

But still good luck!

High sec pockets already exist in null sec.

Drone lands is one example, seas of no combat PVE all day long only rarely interrupted by the odd small gang. You'd get ganked in high sec more often than you would out there in a mining boat.

Do you get charged billions to operate in High Sec?

Also I can't see PL acting like Concord, the only interest you will get is Drik Acftion taking the bung out of you for your loss!

Some of you talk like you are professionals at building a market hub in NPC 0.0. The general point I am trying to make is that there is something down here for everyone.

There's talk about setting up quickly, because of the nature of this venture it has attracted lots of independent players who do most things on their own. The guys already here or planning to come down haven't even used our JF services, they used their own means of getting stuff here or they used wormholes, if that is want they want then I am not going to impose JF services on them.

I've read the criticism posts here and I feel that some of you will never know what Drac and I are talking about simply because you're not in a position where you're spearheading plans to build a nullsec market hub and most likely never will be. We have got a handful of people interested and there is a nice buzz down here.

Also, i was in a sov alliance that did a deployment to NPC null just to give the new members something to do. We moved a stack of frigate n cruiser hulls there plus all the mods n ammos. Fitted stuff was on contracts to save time, so we could just say "Fleets up, check alliance contracts for ..." the rest went on the market because there was no market pvpers there.
Over 2 and a half years i've been involved three times in logistics, convoys setting up and pulling out of NPC null. De facto hubs just appeared due to our numbers and market weight. Locals bought from us for their *gudfites* and missions were two jumps that way.
You guys are overthinking and dramatising something that serious groups do without even trying. Move in like pests, take over like weeds, this game rewards audacity, not:" I really had issues jumping that into Stain, the issue being that it was just not secure enough for me."

Honestly, I'm going to stop responding to your posts because I don't think you will ever understand that we are not an alliance even if Dracvlad and I explain this to you carefully 12 times.

Of course an established alliance with lots of members and policies can deploy in npc 0.0 and bring lots of stuff to the destination. Go back to the beginning of this thread and read it carefully, I know you haven't read it all.

Also Hub Zero threads can be perceived as a kind of reality-show for eve players. It is entertaining and can spark some Interesting debates.

I think you need better understanding of this venture because the nature of it involves trusting people who are unknown to you. With that said its going to be difficult to meet a complete stranger and then 5 minutes later say "Hey buddy give me a hand jumping billions worth of assets here" that would be asking for trouble. The best way is to not risk too much while relations are built and a couple of months down the line when relations have grown to friendships we may be in a position to do carefully planned ops with expensive ships.

So the way you see Drac and I talk and act has lots to do with this, were treading very carefully. I have thought about me asking Drac to ask our buddy for the JF back and I've come round to his point of view. The best way is to put our money where our mouth is and get our own JF which will be ours to risk. Until such a time we will stick with the lower risk option and use carriers.

I am not interested in your story, and your little fun winkles, an auditor, it shows a level of uponeself that which is truly uninspiring, but it shows just what a stupid idea renting is, the above example says it all, rent increased massively and told to leave systems.

LOL, so you equate verbal fencing on a forum to leadership, hahaha, that "Do you think I should go back and ask him if he is willing to lend me it again?" was a throw away line, leadership is doing what I am in the process of doing, sorting my own one out and putting my own money where my mouth is.

But in any case lets look at you, hmmmm, no kills and lots of cyno ship losses, so in reality we have someone criticizing and talking about leadership who is too pathetic to post with his main, so seriously how can anyone take you seriously when you post with a cyno alt.

Big deal you were in a sov alliance that did logistics, well lots of people have done that myself included, one part of the leadership is making a decision how to go in, light or heavy, sounds like you went heavy, did you do that from the off, and creating a market due to your weight is likely due to fire selling taht which you could not get out. But seeing as you post with a Cyno alt all we can do is mistrust your words and discount your boast as it has no facts behind it, no run along and troll some other thread until you have the courage to post with your main.

You do a two man roam here, blow up one of Aaron's corp mates on a gate then head back and get blown up after 7 jumps out of the 35 that you have to do. I really am not going to go 35 jumps to blow you up for killing a destroyer am I, therefore the killing bit is I guess dependent on how bored you are.

And for my fun, the art of not being kill I am helping the guy you killed move his loot, so no more destroyers on gates for you!

Your biggest problem is just that .Planning , planning ,talking talking , planning , talking ... i told you about that before.

You started this thread 3 months ago and even the simple thing of buying stuff in jita and having it jf'd there through black frog seems to give you guys a hard time.

You have as i read it here allmost no liquid isk , allmost no people participating , allmost no standings wich the locals .. well appart from negative standings as they tend to shoot you after 3 months of talking and planning.

It's quite simple to start this :

-Build up liquid isk or get in touch with a rich industrial/trader who wants to participate .
-Buy basic stuff people fly and fit in jita and courier it through black frog to stain.
-Make a thread in the recruitment section of the forum explaining what you want to do , that they do not need to be a part of your corp etc AND in the process enlighten them that the market is fully stocked with basic fittings/ships.Possibly also have a thread here as this one.
-Respond to the people who are showing interest in your recruitment add .
-Make a mailing list and an intel channel .The mailing list is there for people to tell you what items you are lacking and those that show to lack most you ship there again using black frog.

On a sidenote as i and others allready have suggested , have another look at syndicate as it is really ideall to do just what you want to do.Getting standings there with the locals should not be a big problem either.I've been in syndicate a lot of times on my own and every time within a week i have good standings with most of the local residents.

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

And it has begun.

Aaron/drac (<- as i remember the same person but i could be wrong) again you should have worked out a better plan:

- Logistic routes (so stuff actually can get there)
- Protection (so corpies don't get blown up all the time)
- Doctrines (so you can defend yoursefl)
- Forums
- Teamspeak
- Jabber?

And most of all = BLUES

As i read it you have none of the abbove.
