if there is a range of brain function, from basic needs like hunger and shelter to moral reasoning, and some of the higher functions are impeded by various conditions including intoxication, it's possible you might form new conclusions about stale information after considering it from a simpler perspective. i'd say it's likely that any new decisions made in a state of altered mentation, though the reasoning may be elegant, appear clear to the extent that pertinent moral, social, emotional, professional, physical, and financial intricacies are neglected. habitual decision making from an altered mental state can be viewed as positive especially by they who seek to apply occam's razor to an otherwise indecisive thought life, but chances are once you return from moral bliss you'll find the results of your decisions will throw all other areas of life into disarray. in short, the simplicity you perceive is neglect indulged, and i don't recommend it.

Well, yeah. But they turn out in cases like this to be completely wrong and silly. You will need to use a psychedelic to really get new insights.

BTW, looking for profound chemical based philosophies ended in the 60's, almost 50 years ago. Do keep up.

The only true achievement I know of that came directly from alcohol was when Anthony Burgess was writing the novel "A Clockwork Orange". He somehow pounded out the entire thing only when blind drunk. In only 3 weeks no less.

(Also, Thomas Pynchon wrote all 800+ pages of "Gravity's Rainbow" while on acid.)
