I'm getting drunk— realising new things about life and philosophy?

Hi.

Is it true that alcohol can act a bit like melange from Dune and make you understand new things about reality?

I've been drinking some wine straight from the bottle and I'm starting to come to grips with some interesting new concepts about the way I look at life and philosophy.

Like seriously, even though you may say a lot of this is illusory, I think measured doses of alcohol are actually helping me to understand certain things?

PS: Obviously my brain and body is still impaired in other ways XD.

This should be a high-quality thread.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

Something of an improvement over the old look - Bruce Willis.

Just don't go inserting things into your orifices and you'll be okay, OP.

He's drinking it straight from the bottle. It's pretty much all swill at that point.

Waste of a good wine. People like OP should be straight-jacken'd and put into a padded room for his own safety.

Don't be silly, I'm perfectly sane and reasonable.

PS: In Australia we can get quite good quality wine very cheaply.

People have been gaining insight from altered states of perception for 1000s of years. Nothing new here.

The key is if you can manifest these insights into your more usual states.

Ooh no we can't. Do some travel and you'll quickly realise how expensive alcohol is down here.

I don't know about anyone else, but I find drinking with friends rather than drinking with my keyboard more conducive to an interesting exchange of ideas. (it also makes me feel as if I haven't got quite the drinking problem that some people seem to have)

Harden the **** up Mr Epeen.

Sure friends can be great for coming up with ideas, but so can the internet, music and books.

I enjoy myself drinking behind my keyboard thank you very much, and it's not a problem if I drink in moderation and don't do anything unsafe.

I find that most alcohol pairs well with finely harvested tears in local.

It also leads to some very deep (although twisted) conversations over teamspeak and mumble.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Drinking with others is great. Drinking alone is greater.
