Every time i login i'm getting a black screen. i can't do anything. I could play just fine yesterday morning and then i logged out and now i can't even play anymore. how do i fix this?

me too. moved from trial user to pd 1 da ago. thats justice what the hell this is a PAID game . . .

They had a Rubicon 1.1.4 update this morning. As a workaround for now you can probably try to run the exefile.exe under the \eve online\bin directory. That should get you into the in-game login screen, bypassing the launcher.

Same problem here... I have managed to get in a couple of times, but mostly black screen.

It happens after assets load, I hear the sound cue that usually signifies the character select screen, but the characters never appear, and the screen goes black.

What happens if you delete the EVE config folder inside your windows documents:
Users \ *Windows login name* \ Appdata (hidden folder) \ Local \ CCP

Game runs fine for me, if i delete the saved settings here...


I seem to have narrowed it down (for me personally anyway) that if i try to run the game after having chosen 'Windowed Mode' the game will not start up properly and i'll get the blackscreen of death.

Is everyone else experiencing this running in windowed mode?

To fix this: Whilst its not rendering properly... Hold alt and press enter on the numpad to quickly toggle fullscreen mode.... Then i alt tab.. and back into the game, the game is now rendering correctly... I can now Alt+Numpad Enter again to have a working game in windowed mode.


Perhaps i should also add that i have Vista 64 + SLI?
Not sure if this issue is related... But i don't see anyone else posting any system specs :D

Same issue here. Black screen after login. If I open the menu (Esc) I see a flicker of the character selection screen, However if I change any graphics settings etc.. the game instantly crashes.

Worked fine before today's patch.

Hey things happen, in every paid game I've ever played things sometimes go wrong.

Petition and see if you can get an extra day or two added to the game account :)

Ok i'm in past lack screen. FinAlly. First my ticket got responded to saying they had patched n log a formal bug report jf continues. It didnt work. WhT did work, after paying an IT guy usd80, was to find the eve main 13gb file and load from there. NOT as i had done find the load eve launcher base file. Still get black screen but if i click where character is situated it clicks thru. Not impressed. Ps im on mac

Same here! It loaded today's patch and no image, just sound. Cry

I'm also on a Mac.

Even better, I can click in the middle of teh black screen, and I here 'connecting' as I apparently clicked on one of my characters...still no image at all though.

i've gone as far as to reinstall eve and windows 8.1......and <---this character gets the bsod but my other two characters don't......what gives?

I've been having the same issue for about a week, I can log in in the launcher, watch the intro movie if i really want to, and end up on just a black screen instead of the character select screen. There's sound, but nothing else. Seems to lock up too and have to power the computer off. Even after reinstalling, deleting the library folder, I'm stuck.

I'm running the Mac client on OS 10.9.

Having a similar issue on OS X and Windows. I can:

1. run the laucher
2. update the client
3. login via the launcher

Character selection sometimes work (but renders very slowly) other times is a black screen with audio.

I do not load the station environment but when it begins to generate a picture the client either hangs or generates a rainbow of rectangles. If I undock the client crashes with either a stuttering black screen or a rainbow of rectangular static.

I'm running my client on a variety of Macs:

- Mac Mini (OS X 10.8 && WIndows 7 (bootcamp)) (8GB RAM)
- MacBook (late 2009) (6 GB RAM)

They display adapter is the same in both. NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256Mb.
