CCP Youtube Videos & Audio Recording Levels

I've really enjoyed the recent & frequent videos from CCP featuring various elements and teams involved in the development process leading up to Crucible and hopefully beyond.

Yet as a suggestion, who ever is recording those videos may want to take a look at the camera's settings, or their video editing software's sound settings. Somewhere between the mics recording people speaking, & the final upload to Youtube your audio is being recorded/unduly amplified into the red (on audio recording meters) and is very .... noisy with some degree of distortion.

The conversations and the messages you're sharing are great, the content is spectacular. It's very much appreciated, please continue! Simultaneously, someone may want to look at a dial on the camera, or in the video software & just dial down the recording levels a bit.

(Having some simple headphones plugged into the camera while you record, may help you narrow down camera based issues)

And...

  • The color correction is excessive.
  • The camera shakes and moves annoyingly, which distracts from what is being said. (tripod?)
  • There is no need for a vignette, it's not an episode from a CSI Miami.
  • Showing new footage of game content 'over the shoulder' looses all impact of the game content (people do not want to be reminded their game is constructed on a server bank somewhere) use screen capture instead.

    • If you do not trust your footage, do not use it - tarting it up is pointless. What's next? Lens flares?

    And finally...

  • Stop imitating opening sequences of movies, especially ones that have been imitated more times than you've had sex. You end up looking like a first year art student in the 1990's, that never actually graduated.

    • Is being original that hard?
