Why would you start the client in the middle of the launcher trying to modify it?

You don't start driving around your car when you're changing a flat tire until you've swapped in the spare one.

Have you checked your router / modems settings? I do not know which port the launcher uses, but some hardware can be finicky.

Do you have the option to install a linux distro and attempt to run EvE through WINE?

I was having a little fun, but it does sound like you have having some software conflicts. Reformatting does solve most problems, because,in theory, you are bringing the HD back to stock. Have you tired installing the game itself to another drive/portable drive?

There may be an error in the read/write sector that the game or one of it's components is residing in. Beyond that and the above network ideas that have been provided, I wouldn't be of much more help. I'm sorry you're having the issues. I'm not, but I would be equally upset if I was.

i have a lot of screen shots at home but i cant post now since im not home yet , left them at my USB flash drive since it was a collected screenshots from morethan 100 computer,

got atleast 11 or 13 different error notifications there, i will post it soon as i will have my hands on my flash drive.

If you are hardwired into your network, try to move the PC to the closest point of your internet coming in.

I.E, if you have a modem and a router, unplug the router and plug the PC directly into the modem.

The next step would be to boot the computer in safe mode with networking and seeing if that solves the issue.

Are you running the launcher in Administrative mode? If not, attempt to do so.

Eve will make you work a solid month all on your own for your first cookie. Then kick you in the nuts and take that cookie, and laugh at you for thinking you could have a cookie at all.

Thank you sir for your comment, i will also try this suggestion of yours and see if it works, also i will let my technician know if he can find problems and solution in I.P. / DNS like what the other guy suggest. see what works for us.

Im a player of eve online since 2007 and i can say a lot of changes game had gone through but lately i notice that this new game launcher is causing a lot of problems for player here in PH,

Since the patch way back mid November 2013 last year the game launcher always fails to update in our place and we have no option but to re download and re-install the game over and over again cause the game does not patch itself, or if it did it end up crashing.

Sometimes even if we install the latest game client the game can not be played cause latest client has patch and the patches wont apply if we run the client itself.

This is a very big hassle in our part as downloading the entire client will take morethan 8 hours in my place. imagine re downloading the whole thing every time you guys do update 2 times a week time.

Me and 7 of my friends tried over 100 computers in 7 different locations and theres no way the PC is to be blame as we only tried the best available hardware there is. (ram morethan 4 gigabyte, mostly 8GB-16GB spec/ video card 2GB to 4GB and Corei7 processors incase you want to ask )

As of connection i can say we tried the most stable ones with speed upto 32Mbps and ping as low as 15.

now the problem arise every new patch came since the launcher is pretty useless in applying the patch.

THE REPAIR TOOL DOESNT HELP US EITHER as repair tool fail to resolve all the problem and even if it does the new incomming patch will lay waste in the current function game client.


my question to EVE why did they addopt this game launcher which i think come from 3rd party steam if im not mistaken which makes a lot of problem for some players. Im not doing a flame post here or whine but like i said ive been tolerating the problem since November last year and i think its time for me to speak about our problem as my friend already lost interest in playing this game and out of 33 players in my location only me was left playing this game.

and i myself HONESTLY can not endure Much further if this problem persist.

i will post more screenshots in this forum for you guys to see. theyre are multiple problems that we encounter which we think was caused by the game launcher itself.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DID TRIED EVERYTHING,

Things like:
DISABLE FIREWALL
DISABLE ANTI-VI]RUS
UNINSTALL ANTI-VIRUS
try windows xp
try windows 7
try windows 8
try repair tool
try a newly formatted hardware just to make sure the hardware has no virus or ]malware that may hinder the game installation
try the latest game client
try 3 different ISP

PLEASE let me know what else we havent tried cause my friends are tired already and they ask me nicely to do this post for you and DEV to look into. again ill post Latest ERROR screenshots here soon.

Connecting random dots here, but are you running a language localized version of windows?

Wild shot in the dark is that language settings are difference between you and everyone else who has no problem. Next time you reinstall windows choose base plain default "I'm an American in Texas!" install.


Or icelandic, but that could leave you in a world of hurt if you don't speak it. ;)

Are you using the repair tool from the launcher settings menu? If so try using the one from your EVE folder.

IN the launcher under the patch tab is a setting to delete the patch after applying. If you uncheck this option the patch is saved and could be passed around and imported into your friends computer saving dozens of download attempts.

How about the download number of threads option? Thats like a torrent. Some countries don't like torrents, try a single thread.

Have you tried throttling? Once again Some places don't like sustained high volume transfers. To some downloads of our size at highspeed might look like possible video piracy streams. try cutting it down to a third of your bandwidth.

How are your countries relations with Iceland and England? If there are tensions your problem may be political and might be solved by proxying thru a server in a neutral country.

You know there's a load of 'chaff' sitting in your User's %APPDATALOCAL% sub folders right?

I've had that go mental and lose it's access control list. Caused all sorts of mischief. Fixed by Deleting the CCP stuff and having the game 'recreate' it all for me.

You didn't mention it expressly, so I'm adding it to your ever increasing "Have you tried turning it off and back on?' check list

No problem with launcher so far at my end. In fact, I haven't had any problems since its introduction.

Have you tried it to turn it of and on again?

version 2.1.655130

The third patch in 3 days. I understand the desire to keep pushing stuff out CCP, but version control like that is terrible.

That outsourced testing team running regression tests every day on the new version too?

Except the fact many people are not having any issue at all means the launcher is not a mass of ****** code or it would behave like a POS in every install. It's probably picky about something and noone found what exactly yet.

Todays patch removed all of my usernames, which is a pain as I have a hell of a lot, but I've been expecting it a while as a few people have reported it in Issues & Workarounds. In all honesty you only have to look at the first few pages of that forum to see that there are lots of people experiencing launcher issues and it's been going on for months.

Like the OP, I've had loads of problems myself with the new launcher and it's maddening to keep trying different fixes. Having said that my PC & router died last week, so some of it is hardware/software issues at my end. If its only stable on systems running at optimal (which I doubt the majority of users are) it needs further testing. When any new implementation is made with the potential to affect such a large number of users, it might be worth doing follow up surveys to see how many people are reporting problems, rather than just wait for petitions and forum reports.

I've only ever really had one problem, but it seems a bit symptomatic of what I think people are suffering from. It basically seems to forget (or not care about) some of its own settings — in my case, it simply refuses to remember more than one login at a time. If I wipe its settings, it'll remember the next login name until the end of time, but no other.

It wouldn't surprise me if this setting-forgetting thing can make it stumble over its own threaded downloads, for instance, and end up with missing or duplicate parts, leading to broken patches and installs.
