EVE ONLINE GAME LAUNCHER becomming worst game launcher?

First i want to say i read all available forum page for this but i can not see any more relevant forum section but general discussion, if this is offtopic kindly move it to a more appropriate one. TY


Im a player of eve online since 2007 and i can say a lot of changes game had gone through but lately i notice that this new game launcher is causing a lot of problems for player here in PH,

Since the patch way back mid November 2013 last year the game launcher always fails to update in our place and we have no option but to re download and re-install the game over and over again cause the game does not patch itself, or if it did it end up crashing.

Sometimes even if we install the latest game client the game can not be played cause latest client has patch and the patches wont apply if we run the client itself.

This is a very big hassle in our part as downloading the entire client will take morethan 8 hours in my place. imagine re downloading the whole thing every time you guys do update 2 times a week time.

Me and 7 of my friends tried over 100 computers in 7 different locations and theres no way the PC is to be blame as we only tried the best available hardware there is. (ram morethan 4 gigabyte, mostly 8GB-16GB spec/ video card 2GB to 4GB and Corei7 processors incase you want to ask )

As of connection i can say we tried the most stable ones with speed upto 32Mbps and ping as low as 15.

now the problem arise every new patch came since the launcher is pretty useless in applying the patch.

THE REPAIR TOOL DOESNT HELP US EITHER as repair tool fail to resolve all the problem and even if it does the new incomming patch will lay waste in the current function game client.


my question to EVE why did they addopt this game launcher which i think come from 3rd party steam if im not mistaken which makes a lot of problem for some players. Im not doing a flame post here or whine but like i said ive been tolerating the problem since November last year and i think its time for me to speak about our problem as my friend already lost interest in playing this game and out of 33 players in my location only me was left playing this game.

and i myself HONESTLY can not endure Much further if this problem persist.

i will post more screenshots in this forum for you guys to see. theyre are multiple problems that we encounter which we think was caused by the game launcher itself.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DID TRIED EVERYTHING,

Things like:
DISABLE FIREWALL
DISABLE ANTI-VI]RUS
UNINSTALL ANTI-VIRUS
try windows xp
try windows 7
try windows 8
try repair tool
try a newly formatted hardware just to make sure the hardware has no virus or ]malware that may hinder the game installation
try the latest game client
try 3 different ISP

PLEASE let me know what else we havent tried cause my friends are tired already and they ask me nicely to do this post for you and DEV to look into. again ill post Latest ERROR screenshots here soon.

I hate the thing and don't use it.

These days, I still start it after every DT because it updates faster than letting the client itself figure out that it needs updating.

I hate the launcher too. I've just been running repair when it pops up about a patch.

It is so much faster to log in without the launcher I don't know why anyone would bother with it.

I've never had a problem with the launcher. In fact, it works smoother on the Mac.

we did technical things GM told us as replied in petition, things like Delete cache folder found in launcher folder and let the client run again, it did resolve the problem TEMPORARILY but now with the latest patch its not working.

things we did like run the
exefile found inside BIN folder as what other guys instruct us also work TEMPORARILY but now our client was stuck in 1/4 client verification again and we can not play the game. i manage to momentarily connect to the game a while ago cause i run the game repair tool and that repair tool can only give me 1 game cleint playable session, after i close the game client to relog again the game end up crashing that i need to run tool repair again to be able to have a change to play the game.

nothing seems permanent solotion for us, not even the new game client as new client will give problem everytime new patch came in as the new patch will fail to apply most of the time

Then the problem's yours, not CCP's. My machine's a cantankerous piece of crap that I can't even reliably convince to download a moderately large picture, but the EVE launcher and client both consistently work smoothly and reliably for me. Don't blame CCP for your temperamental computer.

again sir we tried morethan 100 hardware not one, not even my computer at home.

Never had an issue with the launcher. Running Winblows 8.

Eve will make you work a solid month all on your own for your first cookie. Then kick you in the nuts and take that cookie, and laugh at you for thinking you could have a cookie at all.

What country are you located in? Have you tried to proxy to a different country? Also, try setting your DNS to 8.8.8.8, alternate 8.8.4.4 (Google DNS).

i guess the problem lies more in our ISP or location?
we dont do anything unussual at all

to be honest i bet we are older player in eve than most of you guys, and we know the game very well. we are not the type of people who just whine in forum without exhausting any possible or alteast all know possible solutions to our problems.


AND PLEASE abide game forum rules no cursing or trash talking we only need helpful tips and ideas here not negative comments.

IF YOU HAVE NO HELPFUL TIPS kindly refrain from posting as it will not help us at all.

because it fails aLOT. I used also to loose my installations every other patch. But sicen Rubicon I stopped having issues myself.

Good for you and gratz that it works for you. But it doesn't for a lot of people, me included. Fortunately all I need to do is restart it to get things moving along or wait out the inevitable error when I shut it down. Many are not so lucky.

There are some real issues with this thing and it's really frustrating for a lot of people. It needs to get sorted sooner than later.

Launching from the exe used to work fine for pretty much everybody. CCP owes us at least that level of efficiency with the launcher. Or they need to rewrite it.

Perhaps it's all the numerous "background tasks" that have been installed by the "entertainment" websites they have been visiting, and as a result of all the data said applications are "diverting" from their computers to the "cloud."Pirate

i tried installing the game in a newly REFORMATTED HARDWARE, it did work until the latest patch came in and the game launcher wont install the patch as the installation stuck at 1/4 client verification process.


we also encounter problem like latest version of client suddenly reverted to an old one.

I would also be interested in knowing if I took my PC (which runs the launcher without issue) and plugged it in to your Ethernet connection, if I would have an issue as well.

Have you checked your router / modems settings? I do not know which port the launcher uses, but some hardware can be finicky.

Do you have the option to install a linux distro and attempt to run EvE through WINE?

After you have changed your DNS, make sure you open up the winblows command prompt and type the following:

cd c:\\windows\system 32
ipconfig /flushdns


Edit:

You can also attempt to clear your temp folder.

Initate the "run" command.
Type temp
Delete the contents of the folder

Do the same with the %temp% folder.
