That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing someone like Mynna in an ISD position. It's not so much about where you're from in game as it is about your actions, I think.

There are rules that prevent him from acting like a butte and dire consequences if he did. I see no issue with letting anyone who hasn't ate an in game ban perform moderation. It brings diversity to the points of view of the moderators which would be a good thing.

Yeah....but diversity isn't always a good thing. For instance, I wouldn't want a former drug cartel leader on a police force. While I'm sure said cartel leader would have some...unique... insights into law enforcement, and might occassionally be able to contribute to establishing law and order through "street cred," it's still not a good idea.

I would want that leader consulting with my police force that is focused on taking down drug cartel leaders. The point stands set the cut off at "people that can't abide by the TOS and ate some form of ban" not "people who decide to be 'bad guys' in EVE."

Consulting? Sure. On the actual police force? Not gonna happen. Anyway, it's all a moot point really. I just want fewer decent threads moved to dead subforums.

I agree with you, I think having more diversity would help that.

Maybe, but there are probably limits to the "diversity" CCP is willing to tolerate, and Erotica1 crashes through those limits and then throws it into overdrive. It can be entertaining sometimes, but yeah...

I'd assume he's met a ban already once or twice for doing something terminally stupid like that. I think people like him are far and few enough in between its a non-issue.

There is no conspiracy to silence some people and the group they apparently represent. Do you people ever find something you can't cry about?

No matter who CCP hires, or allow to volunteer as the case may be, the rules that they enforce don't change. CCP make the rules. ISD enforces them. Period. If they don't enforce them or overstep their mandate, they get a stern talking to. Or we just don't see them anymore.

By the same token, why offer the position to someone who has proved on many occasions that they can't even follow the rules let alone enforce them? Makes no sense to me.

Seriously. Some of you people have such a major persecution complex.

T20 was ISD? And how many years ago?

If it was some sort of sexual fetish then I could kind of understand it, but he thinks this is normal behaviour & cool.

Remember that time that ISD Stensson locked a newbies thread because he asked why he couldn't tuck his characters pants in, which started a forum riot? Those were the days.

I rarely come to these forums, the reason being that I am not entertained.

There is no humor or originality here. I've seen all these arguments before, just with different games.

EVE is a game about destroying stuff. So you will get one type of player. Competitive males mostly, probably around twenty-something.

That competitiveness leeches into the forums.

From little things, like reporting posts for being in the wrong forum, to full on flame wars.

Some of the reasons are players competing for an ISD job or competing against old foes from in the game.

I don't find it entertaining.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not fussy, but I need a little bit more than selfies and a little bit more than a forum war of people being rude because they are bored. The flamers are not entertained either, so they make their own fun by causing some consternation.

CCP could give players reasons to exchange information or entertainment, rather than insults.

Insults are old hat.

Have not read anything out side of the OP, so this is my thoughts right out of the box....

I play a LOT of games. One of them is League Of Legends. This game, along with DOTA2, probably has the most TOXIC forums and community. One thing Riot did to curve this is implement a kind of Code of Conduct for both the forums and the game it self. Now, the nature of LoL compered to EVE is EXTREEEEEMLY different (yes, I used more e's than needed), however one thing I think the EVE forums at least could take away from is having some kind of code of conduct. The biggest problem EVE has is also its biggest draw card. Its open to anything, from killing other players to coning them. However, people seem to keep 'playing' EVE on the forums. I think this needs to stop, or at least curved. Your not meant to keep playing it here, merely discuss it. Some people have a tendency to take the in-game problems OUT of the game. That's the hard bit that people need to get over.

Then there are just people who like being assholes....

Items we could buy to interact with other forum users would bring life to the forums.

Imagine if you could force a clown mask on that really annoying person, a bag over that really ugly person's head, an egg/tomato/rotten fruit you could chuck at someone or force their font to read in 20 point brilliant pink sparkly comic sans. Put these things in the NeX store for aurum and CCP will have successfully done microtransactions.

Humor and originality right there, its a T rated version of what goes on at SA and it makes CCP money.

Most of the forums I visit has this "New Posts" button along the top forum buttons that collated thread subjects that I haven't viewed since my last visit (cookies). Thats my goto button everytime I load up one specific forum, cause I'll get the opportunity to contribute to the latest/active threads of the board. The visibility and single click access basically made it THE 'community' button.

If ever we implemented it here, I guess there should be New Posts for every major subforum like Eve Communication Center,
Eve Gameplay Center, Eve Marketplace (specially this, because of daily bump rulings) etc etc..

While it is true that the eve forum community is.... a "lil bit" hostile yes, most of the gaming forums i've seen will have a smaller population than the actual gamebase; Most of the players are busy playing of course! Gaming forums of old did have a bit of advantage because other structures for communication was not there/hard to get into. Now, discussions are decentralized (reddit, SA, mumble, TS3, etc etc..) and the various ideas, concerns, activities, interests -- whole cultures/communities -- go with it.

You don't even make sense.

You want known scammers that not only scam but humiliate people in the ISD but some ancient Dev cheat is your justification for it? Guy should be your hero the way you are talking.

And more ancient history. The CSM was created to provide checks and balance so T20 would not happen again. It's their mandate to assure total morons don't find there way into the ISD. Or anywhere else for that matter.
