I am looking at getting a Megathron Navy Issue as my first battleship. I want to know what you think the best modules are to fit it with. Open to all suggestions.

I would like to do mostly PVE and mission running but we all know you can't escape the occasional PVP fight.

You don't fit a hi sec mission BS for "just in case PvP", you fit it to mission run.

And hybrids are the worst weapon system to mission with.

Navy mega is pretty badass. 8 lowslots of tanky goodness, enough dronebay to field a full 5 sentries/heavies and keep a flight of lights in reserve. Utility highslot. Lots of HP.

I'd stick to MJD and railguns however. Blasters are only good for a certain subset of missions. If you don't know what those are, they're more trouble than they're worth.

Tell that to an Amarr boat in Minmatar space.

In Gallente space it works, Serpentis is nice and weak to hybrids

I'd use afterburner and rails because it is fast.

Also screw making it cap stable. Use a Cap Booster, and use those remaining mid slots and rig slots for more useful stuff. Like Target Painters and Hybrid rigs.

Obviously, you can do what you want, but I would suggest this not be your first battleship. Get a normal megathron first. Yes the MNI is better, but EVE has a harsh learning curve. The normal Megathron can run level 4 missions just fine. Fly it until you get some experience first.

Just my opinion.

I tried running lvl 4 missions between WH corps (don't tell the boss they might kick me!) and found the Kronos worked great in bastion mode in Amarr space where I was based out of. Blaster fit with a flight of hobs took care of pretty much everything without much fuss. And what the one guy said is true, you are either fit for missions or PVE, never both.

Very true on your first statement.

You couldn't be more wrong on your second.

There are plenty of hybrid based hulls that will do perfectly fine running missions anywhere the rats are weak to kinetic and thermal damage types.

As others have said either pvp or pve, never both as it will be horrible at both.

I have never flown one in pve but this has the same tanking ability as my senty domi, basically just enough to survive while you punch stuff in the face:

Fit rails and ab for serpentis. Fit mwd and blasters for angels. 4 tanking slots. 2 tracking comps. Other slots depends on you. Any mega hull works well in gallente space.

I wasn't aware that region affected mission rats. There's a hub in caldari space where you grt mostly angel and sansha missions. Blanket statements about fitting for a region has not been proven true to me

Get a normal one first.. then when you are used ot it sell and get the navy one. Otherwise you will loose it and come back here crying,.

They do.. and a LOT.. anyone that ran missions all around eve knows. Missioning in domain is completely different from missioning in the forge.

you never EVER get a gurista mission for example.

Yup, there are indeed exceptions but for the most part the faction space you're in will dictate the NPC faction you'll get in missions. There's obviously always generic missions you get in all faction space.
