You do realize GD isn't really the place to post bug reports?

I'm sure you have already posted in the bug reports forum and already sent a petition explaining your problems because you are in here ranting about it, where there is a snowball's chance in hell of getting tthe issue resolved, correct?

You should get madder and type louder. You weren't getting the attention you wanted in the Mac support forum so you brought it here and are surprised that you are getting attention (yea, it's all bad btw). You're funny.

EVE doesn't run natively on Mac. It uses a wrapper software called WINE, which translates Windows API calls to the platform it's running on.

Yes I know it runs on an emulator/wrapper/whatever the **** you want to call it, but the official client that you download does not use Wine it uses Cider.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/1gnpe9/dev_blogs_new_system_requirements_for_eve_ccp/

So until you know what you're talking about you should be quiet.

Installing Wine requires installing Macports. **** THAT. I am not having that piece of **** screw up my unix dependancies thanks.

So why aren't you quiet, as you obviously don't know what you're talking about? It's not me creating an helpless whine thread in the wrong forum section because I have no clue how to fix an issue.

WINE, Cider. Yeah. Same difference, except one focuses more on DirectX.

Self entitled brat. lol

Which one focuses on bew bees ? P that one gets my vote haha

When the EVE Devs ignore the mac forums and don't comment on any of the posts where things are issues then we are going to move it to where someone may actually see we are upset. Wine and Cider are not the same. Similar yes, same no don't be an ass.

Yeah I'm self entitled because I decide to buy a computer I like that doesn't crash (except when I play EVE). Doesn't get attached nearly as much as windows, and has useable software unlike linux. Seems you're the one who thinks they are self entitled.

I wouldn't be that way if you had managed to be a nice and friendly person in the OP, but instead you ranted like a child. That's why I call you self entitled. And considering the market share of Apple, you really have no ground...

Btw... lots of useable free software out there for linux.

No. They can fix the problem.

Yup they sure can. I'm sure they'll fix it when they have much less pressing matters to attend to as well as have a decent fix available.

Who knows, maybe they're already working on a fix but get depressed when whining little ***** start to cry? Then due to depression they have to take time off to sort it out and get better again hence increasing the time to deployment.

*sigh* I'm starting to get a headache just reading the gibberish Angelica writes.

Anyway, OP, CCP farms out the Mac client to a another company that creates/maintains Cider. You need to file a complete bug report via the Mac bug reporting system and then wait for Transgaming to release a fix to the client. CCP won't do the fix since they don't actually maintain that portion of the Mac client.

It's not a fashion statement. The development work I do requires a Mac. It is what I need, so it is what I own.

That "fashion statement" makes most of the TV you watch and a lot of the films. Unfortunaltly for mac gammers creative production work isn't done on machines made for spreadsheets. So we either have to buy a second maching just for gamming, or endure trolls who for some reason give a cr#p about what computer other people use for thier job.

a pc can do all this, just because you don't know how doesn't mean it can't

Nothing but rubbish.

PC will do everything a mac can do. The mac is after all, just a PC with an apple logo on it and often twice the price.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, a PC can do all of this. It's just that every production shop I have been to that use PCs seem to spend more time configuring and maintaining the stuff rather than actually just working. That's why I said "seamless". I also love how most productions houses are Mac based, but PC fanboys (or Mac hatters?) who all never seem to work in this business, seem to think that the professionals who do this on a daily basis have no idea what they are doing and why, and should defer to them in their choice of equipment. You might as well be arguing why MiniDv cams can do everything a RED camera can so people are idiots for not using a MiniDV.

Ad firms and art places have macs.

People like film and game makers as well as science outfits and engineers use PCs.

Apples can work well but to say that PCs cant do the job of a mac just as well is just an outright lie.
