Finish painting that Daredevil. Tuck it into a box. Then send me an evemail with payment conditions and delivery terms.

I can offer you a cartload of turnips, my firstborn, or should you require it, legal currency of the country of your choice.

Nice work!

Did you peeps design the models for the ships yourself, or did you somehow port them from Eve's datafiles?

if you did the first, maybe you should see if CCP is willing to 'lend' you their 3d models and get them properly printed.
now THAT might really get awesome. * pokes CCP *

Does railgun ammunition come in Hollow Point?

This is a hotglue printer am I right? The powder sintering printers get extreme level of detail so you people who aren't happy with this will be in for a treat as the powder-sintering printers become common.
I think the result is awesome, its just too small :D Make bigger modular ones then you can have the appropriate level of detail.

We are trying different type of modular connections, if we find the right one, there will be bigger ones.

This model was made before we found the simplest and best "surface smoothing" method for this kind of printer models (yes it is a kind of hotglue printer, it is melting a plastic string), but still it is quite satisfactioning to convert a bucket of internet spaceship bits into a real life thingy Big smile

Looks nice for a start. If you get better results you probs could sell em. Would love to spend some ISK for a modell of a Navy scorpion. Just think of it: spend Eve ISk to get real life ship modells.

I think that is very impressive. The modular concept would be very interesting to see. Well done sir. Cool

I disagree. Or did you not forget about the switch to lead free metals because some legislator couldn't be bothered to exclude miniatures from the lead ban thus raising mini prices grrrrrrr?

Now we have 3d printed plastics and fancy-schmancy polymerthingies. The heck with this. I'm going to go whittle a Raven out of a piece of wood from a real tree (not one of those mineycrafty block trees either!.)

What resolution was this printed at? What was your X/Y travel speed when doing the perimeters? Did you do an infill? Is this ABS or PLA? Was it printed with support material? Annnd finally, what slicing program did you use?

I would love to get a 3D scan of my Collector's Edition Rifter and 3D print it out. While I absolutely love the paint job on it, it feels too flimsy to actually use, I fear I will break it. So I'd love to have a model available that would let me print a more durable copy (and maybe use some metal rods or something for the poky bits). If someone hypothetically did make such a model file and published it, would they have CCP's blessing?
