Just a quick round up of the last 5 days. Managed 30 kills for 6 losses, the most memorable incidents was that I bought a Low Grade Slave set on Tuesday evening and then lost it on Wednesday afternoon. Doh! My own fault, I was on my way to pick up a ship in Kourm that I wanted to move back to Huola. I took the cheap option of a noob ship and jumped into a gate camp on the Huola gate in Kourm. I got tackled, but wasn't bothered, aligned to the sun and started spamming warp to. I thought they were taking their time to let everyone wh*re on the kill and didn't pay attention to this lumbering Armageddon coming up. Smart bombing b*stard!

Ended the month 308 Kills for 34 losses.

Another quick round up. The weekend I managed 36 Kills including a Brutix, Myrmidon, Ishtar, SFI, Ishkur, Slicer, Vagabond, Rokh and a Sentinel. Eleven of those kills were solo, although they tended to be T1 frigates. All this came for the loss of 5 Breachers and an Exequror Navy Issue

Monday 3rd February 2014

Lory was running his famous Interdictor roam. However, although I had an Eris available he asked me to get in Logi, so I took a MWD Inquisitor. The fleet grew during the roam, peaking at around 30 strong with 5 logi. We killed everything we came across, ignoring gate guns and repping through it when we met neutrals. Logi was hard pressed, but very satisfying, at the end of the roam we had killed 49 for the loss of one Navitas and that loss had occurred when we were split. The only downside for me was that I only got my drone on one Maller kill.

I soloed a bit either side of the roam, usually in a Slicer. I killed a Condor before the roam in a 1 v 2 against 2 Condors. Then afterwards I killed 2 Incursus (1 pod) and a Dramiel solo, then shared in an Atron, Thrasher and Inquisitor with one or two others. But it came with the loss of a Slicer and Tristan, both to the same pilot in a brawler breacher.

The killboard shows me in 9th place with 70 kills over the last 7 days. I think that is testimony to the quality of my fellow pilots.

Tuesday 4th February 2014

I was on fire tonight! Started off in a novice plex in a Slicer. Two neutral kestrels came to the gate, I yelled for help. First one came in and I killed it, then tackled the second, help arrived but I was still top damage and would have been able to solo both.

With the plex finished. I warped to Kourm and jumped in. There on the other side was a WT Noobship and WT Condor. I killed and podded the noobship and then turned on the Condor. He warped out just as another WT Condor warped in. I killed it, then a WT Slicer arrived. I was carrying damage and aware of the other condor, so warped to a safe, called for help, warped back and got tackle on. Friends arrived but I was primaried and this was a known boosted player. Sure enough my damage climbed quicker than his. I burned out and made range with just 55 HP of structure remaining. He popped with myself getting top damage.

Went back to Huola and repaired. The call went out that there were WTs in Huola and I joined the chase, there were about 6 of us chasing after them mainly in frigates. We killed a Griffin and Condor in a plex then a Deimos and Caracal in the Research Outpost. Out to Roushzar and we killed an Algos and Corax (+ pod), then back in Huola a Dragoon.

Civil war has broken out in the Minmatar Militia. Everyone has decced Biohazard after they decided that friendly moon mining POSs didn't come under the Militia umbrella and were fair game. They had taken at least 4 POSs off other Minmatar Militia corps over the last few days and adopted the attitude that they were too big to be stopped and the rest of us had to STFU and accept the situation. The war went live around 2000 hrs this evening.

Biohazard are absolutely awful pilots individually, but they can pull out the blob, their favourite being a Talwar blob. It was decided that we would ship into Arty Ruptures and pay them a visit. We were around 25-30 strong at that point. We only got as far as the Kourm gate when we met a neutral Ferox and alpha'd him off the field. We moved onto Bosboger and broke a biohazard gatecamp on the Dammalin gate, but only killed a Condor. Although a couple of the fleet also got a solo Talwar + half billion pod while in transit. Biohazard promptly docked up.

After playing docking cames for a few minutes, we returned to Huola. Just as we were getting back a report came in that they had reshipped into the Talwar blob and were chasing after us. It was decided to reship into Drakes as we had already played the Arty Rupture hand. We warped down to the Kourm gate and jumped in as our scouts reported Biohazard on the Kourm gate in Auga. However, we found ourselves jumping into their batphone, a heavy cruiser gang with logistics from Suddenly Spaceships. Biohazard saw that we were now in Drakes and decided to stay out of it. We slaughtered SS and apparently that created some bad blood between them and Biohazard.

I took time off for tea during which the Talwar blob was engaged and partially destroyed. I came back after biohazard had reshipped into BS and friendlies were streaming back to Houla to ship up too.

We stacked on the Bosboger gate in Gulmorogod with about 15 BS, 5 Guards + support. Myself in a TFI. They undocked 17 BS, 2 Guards, 1 Onerios + support in Bosboger and warped down to the other side of the gate. Then they paused and waited. Our FC correctly predicted that they were getting a carrier ready to drop.

Eventually they jumped into us. We dropped a Cyno Jammer, but before it activated a Thanatos jumped in. In the meantime we had primaried one of their Guardian. This went down rather slowly, but eventually popped. We switched to the Thanatos. It dipped into Armor and started repping itself. Our reps meanwhile reported they were struggling to hold, we had lost 2 Myrmidons and an Armageddon and a huge effort was taking place to try and save Susan Black's Armageddon. It was also reported that they were shooting the cyno jammer.

Finally the Thanatos capped out and armor damage climbed rapidly. The Cyno jammer popped and SC jumped in with 17 BS, 9 T3s (mostly Proteus) and a Command Ship. We finished off the Thanatos, burned for the gate, deaggressed and jumped to Bosboger.

Isk wise we were slightly ahead, although they were left holding the field. Moral wise, taking a carrier off them when (with SC) they outnumbered us more than 2:1 was huge. We were well pleased with ourselves. Shaping up to be a really good war.

The fleet was disbanded and we streamed back to Huola in noobships, leaving our BS behind for the next night. An hour later I decided to run a plex in Huola before binning it and then found a WT Comet and WT Tormentor in the plex. Only SERIFOS was on comms and after some discussion we decided he would go in a Comet with myself in an Inquisitor. He went in first and started on the WT Comet. I enter the plex, repped up SERIFOS and then burned to range as I became primary. The WT Comet popped and incoming damage reduced considerably. The Tormentor finally popped with myself in half armor.

SERIFOS logged, I got back into a Slicer and went back to the plexing plan. But then landed on a neutral Arbitrator on the plex gate. Tackled it and PM'd an LNA guy in local to come and help. He arrived in a Comet and then a friendly Vexor also came in, Arbitrator went down.

Ended the night 22 kills for no loss. Sec Status -6.3

Wednesday 5th February 2014

There was nothing officially advertised for this night, but the War with Minmatar was entering it's 2nd day and after the previous night's fights, plus the carrier kill, a lot of people logged on to see if anything was happening.

Initially around 10-15 of us joined an ad-hoc gang in frigates and dessies being run by a new, up and coming FC. We ran around the local area and killed a few things, then began a more formal roam. We had only gone a few jumps when a report came in of a 15 man neutral cruiser gang on the Huola gate in Kourm.

We rushed back to reship and jumped through them on the way. They followed us into Huola and warped to a Medium Plex. I followed with my cyno/scout alt and cloaked him up at range off the plex gate. Most of them went into the plex but a single Scythe sat on the gate. Meanwhile we were reshipping into Armor cruiser with 3 Exequrors, myself in the latter. We warped to the plex gate before everyone was ready, hoping to catch and gank the Scythe. If not, simply form up on the gate. Just as I went to warp a report came in that a large Shadow Cartel cruiser gang was jumping into Huola and going to the same plex.

The Scythe entered the plex before anyone landed. Bale was called and as soon as I landed I spammed the warp out button. Shadow Cartel landed and there were a lot of them, around 30 mostly in Ruptures, Belicose and Scythes, plus some specialists. Friendlies were still landing as I warped off, but we got off surprisingly light, losing a single Rupture.

Lory had just come on line, he started rallying the troops and contacted Weazls for bodies. The logi wing reshipped into Augorors and a forth man joined us. We were ready to go in very short order, but in that time SC had entered the plex, killed a couple of the original targets and chased the rest off. SC left the plex, but stayed in system.

Lory ordered us to warp to the plex gate but stay on the outside. We landed just as SC started to arrive and frankly I thought we were chancing our luck. We got the cap chain up and started repping like bosses. A couple went down before we could get to them and we suffered terribly from a dampening Celestis until I screamed at Lory to primary it. The SC Ruptures were Arty fit and they pulled to range, our Augorors struggled to keep up with the battle and this cost Lory his SFI as we couldn't reach him in time. Someone else took over calling, gradually it was getting easier to rep people.

It sometimes comes as a surprise when you are in logi, that we were actually winning the battle. The battle was all but over before I realised it this time and found wreaks and abandoned drones strung out in a broad line over a 200km path.

The butchers bill?

Friendly:
2 Vexor
2 Rupture (Including the one lost pre-battle)

Thursday 6th / Friday 7th February 2014 (+Saturday morning)

A major operation had been planned against Winmatar on Thursday night and it begin with the moving of assets between Huola and Lulm, dozen of Carrier and JF jumps were made back and forth.

A large fleet around 100 strong, came together for around 2200 hrs. It was decided we would go in BCs as Shadow Cartel and others were likely to get involved if we deployed too blingy a comp. We went with ABCs and Rail Feroxs, the latter to combat the expected Talwar blobs, I was in a Ferox. The target was Winmatar's Titan Pos in Bosboger and it was a real deathstar of a POS.

An epic POS bash, FC'd by Annah Kitheran, ensued which lasted more than 3 hours. Winmatar repeatedly welped Talwar fleets into us and we alphaed them off the field. The POS had numerous ECM mods active and these seemed to remove us from the fight about 40% of the time. An active POS gunner took his toll too and took down around a dozen Tornados, although none from Iron Oxide. At one point we decided to reship into BS but as soon as we did, Shadow Cartel pulled out half a dozen Carriers and 4 or 5 Dreadnoughts in Avenod. I had my cyno/scout alt in system. I made the report and Annah decided to go back to BCs. Eventually, the POS went into reinforced mode at 0206 hrs and the timer was discovered to be 26 hours. An alarm clock op was scheduled to begin at 0330 hrs on Saturday morning.

People were worried that we wouldn't be able to get a good enough fleet together at that time, but when it came, almost a 100 people turned up. This time we took BS, myself in a TFI.

There was trouble getting it off the ground. Predator Elite had a big gang of T3s nearby and we weren't certain which if any side he would take. Winmatar got to the POS with their Scimitars first and started repping it while hectic talks took place. Preds gang turned up at the POS and drove off the Scimitars and then we got the word that Pred wanted to blue with us for the operation. So we warped in.

There was talk that Winmatar had 80 T3s on standby and around 25 BS and 3 Carriers were already on the POS when we landed. We targeted the Thanatos first, the same pilot as the one who lost his Thanatos on Tuesday. This time it took less than a minute to take it down. An Archon followed in the next minute, the 3rd Carrier made it into the POS shields. Then we turned on the BS. Annah DC'd and Lory took over target calling. Time dilation hit around 70%. CCP came into system to see what was going on and in short order reinforced the node, wishing us good fight. Annah came back, dropped again, came back but left Lory target calling.

20 Winmatar BS went down along with an Astartes and a Proteus. Shadow Cartel arrived in a load of Ishtars. I think they claimed they were here to shoot the POS, but then I believe they had a punch up with Pred's gang. We concentrated on the Tower and it went down at 0535 with myself getting final blow. Our own losses were very light, I think we lost 3 ships, a Tornado from Iron Oxide, then a BS and a T3 from other participants.

We took down several of the POS mods, but it was getting confusing between SC and Pred's lot. It was decided to clear the field and get our shinies safe. We warped back to Lulm, docked up and most people dropped fleet. Quite a few of us were still buzzing with adrenaline. About an hour later I brought my Cyno/Scout alt back from Avenod and warped him to the site of the battle for a look. I found a Winmatar Maulus, Slicer, Thrasher and Caracal on field with two hauler warping in and out. I undocked with Trant in a Slicer and made my way over, warped in and out a few times grabbing loot and drones off the field. Managed to catch the Maulus on it's own and killed it, then killed one of the haulers, an Iteron V. The Caracal nearly killed me but I warped off with armor damage. All the time my alt was cloaked up nearby and then an Archon landed on field. I reported this and around half a dozen people still active warped over which included Annah. Sadly the Archon warped out before they arrived, but we killed the Caracal and took control of the field. Someone went off and got a Bestower. I suddenly realised that I had one in Dammalin and went and fetched it on my alt. I ended up recovering around 30 mods worth 280M Isk and assumed the other Bestower did the same.

We learnt later that one of the Winmatar Titan pilots had deflected prior to hitting the POS. Obviously he took his Titan with him. Where he went I don't know. That leaves them with one Titan. Apparently around 30 members have dropped from Winmatar since this war started.

Saturday 8th / Sunday 9th Feburary 2014

We ran two more Winmatar POS bashes, putting them into reinforced mode on Saturday evening and then taking them down on Sunday. Everyone wants to get involved after the first bash. Again we hit almost 100 people in fleet and actually went after SC who were dropping on a CVA fleet of Vexors in Kourm right after the second POS was taken down. I flew logi for both take downs and the fleet action afterwards. We arrived late and only shot at a few stragglers as they baled, but then CVA came back and we slaughtered them, taking down 15-20 of them without loss before they baled again. All done at range so I couldn't even get my drones on the KMs. But I managed some skirmishing outside of the fleet ops.

The Winmatar have all but given up it seems. They didn't oppose the first POS takedown and for the second they pulled out about a dozen ABCs and tried a single driveby after the POS had gone down. They only suceeded in losing a couple of their number.

All in all, in spite of flying logi some of the time, I managed some 82 kills over the last 3 days for the loss of 7 ships - 4 Slicers, a Firetail, Breacher and a Hawk. The Hawk loss was the most memorable. I was in a medium plex in Huola when a Jaguar, Harpy, Vexor and Caracal came in. I called for help and a friendly Jaguar and Slicer were on the scene almost immediately. I was primaried, but with two ASBs I tanked like a boss. We took down the Jaguar, then the Harpy and we were well through the Vexor before I finally popped, just as a friendly Vexor arrived on the scene. The enemy Vexor and Caracal both went down without further losses on our side.

Recruitment has been officially suspended for the remainder of the war, this follows a couple of enquires from Winmatar pilots looking for a better home. It was decided to pass up the chance of getting some potentialy experienced pilots in favour of op security. But offers will be sent to these guys if they are still interested once the war comes to a conclusion. I did screw up and sent an invite to the first one, but was overruled by other directors. Apologies all round. My excuse is that I carried out the interview and processing while in a Guardian during the form up for the op. I'm too soft, but we've recruited Amarr pilots in the past and felt they were in the same league, except of course, a lot bigger operations are ongoing against Winmatar.

Monday 10th / Tuesday 11th February 2014

The last couple of days has seen the destruction of another Winmatar POS in Lulm, bringing the total to four, at least ones that I've been involved in.

A few Winmatar and a lot of T3 support from Suddenly Spaceships rolled up to interfer with the first part of the operation. A ranged engagement occurred near the undock of the Lulm station we were staging out of. Two or three ships were lost by both sides, mostly small stuff, but one Ferox from us which rattled our FC as he had calculated pre battle that they wouldn't be able to alpha through the Feroxs. After a post mortum on the matter it was concluded that the guy in question had been double boxing, hadn't noticed the initial damage and simply hadn't broadcast for reps.

In the meantime Pandamic Legion had turned up looking to interfer as well and not fussy who they engaged. With the Ferox post-mortum still ongoing, we docked and left the two of them to fight it out, which largely ended all opposition to the op. Winmatar came back alone later in a few Talwars and succeeded in losting 4 of them before running away. The POS was finally put into reinforced mode, the second time it had been in 3 days, only this time the timer was favourable.

The next day we formed up to finish the POS off. Winmatar made no real attempt to interfer, although Suddenly Spaceships brought a Tengu + support gang over to try and broadside us, losing a Scimitar and Lachesis for their efforts. Other than a minor delay, it was a very easy POS takedown.

At other times Iron Oxide ran a Vexor Navy Issue roam and got some good kills. In addition there has been a lot of skirmishing around the plexes in Huola, including some good logi assisted frigate brawls.

Those two days saw me notch up 36 kills for the loss of a Slicer and Thrasher.

Sunday 16th February 2014

In the war with Winmatar, the Amarr flipped Bosboger. Winmatar took that as an excuse to leave Minmatar militia and move to Gallente militia (I feel for you guys - that is the Gallente Militia). Winmatar abandoned their last POSs in the area and Sunday saw the final operation to finish off the last 3 of them. Two had been put into reinforced mode on Saturday and the third was unfueled.

In preparation for this operation, I left Huola in a Slicer and made my way towards Bosboger, getting as far as Amamake. At that point I was still in the corp room on TS3 with a few guys that I'd been running plexes with during the afternoon. Gordin Brott suddenly announced he had a Deimos tackled in Labapi. Gordon was in a Comet. I was 5 jumps out and was doubtful that it was worth my time trying to get back. Zen in a Tristan and Emokiller in a crow responded they were on their way. I turned back and started burning for Labapi.

Gordin reported he was under the Deimos guns and thought he might solo it. Zen and Emo arrived and held off engaging so as to let Gordin get the solo kill if possible. I finally jumped into system and warped to the engagment off a plex gate. As I landed Gordin reported he was struggling and needed our DPS. We engaged and yet even with four of us now on him he was able to tank the damage. We assumed he was duel rep and one was an AAR and it was just a matter of waiting for the reload cycle. A couple of time we thought we had reached that point and we overheated our guns only to see him rep it all back again.

A Falcon suddenly decloaked, he jammed three of us out but Zens drones drove it off. We continued mindful that the falcon would likely come back. It did, suddenly reappearing much closer, less than 30 Kms off me. I charged forward, tackled it and we killed it, with myself getting 77% of the damage. However a second before it died it got a jam off on the only one of us who still had a point on the Deimos and the Deimos warped out.

We didn't see where it went, instead we scooped the Falcon loot and I warped to the Roushzar gate. There I found both the Falcon pod and Deimos on it. I called the others and jumped through only to see them both disappear towards Huola. I pursued, getting ahead and then jumped into Huola with them and tackled the Deimos. Gordin jumped in with me and engaged. Zen and Emo held in Roushzar as it appeared to be burning back to gate. Sure enough it jumped back to Roushzar and was caught by Zen and Emo. Again it looked like it was crashing gate. Gordin and I had a discussion and as I had the long point, I stayed and Gordin warped to station to reship.

The Deimos jumped back to me and I caught it, this time it tried to burn away and was very fast catching me by surprise and my point dropped. Fortunely Zen and Emo were in by then and one of them had got their point on. A Vengeance and a Condor joined us and still we couldn't break him. Gordin finally returned in an Abaddon. At that point the Deimos started to self destruct, but we finally killed him before he could accomplish it.

Then the b*tching in local started from the Deimos pilot, using words such as 'fail' and 'blob' and 'pathetic'. It was a perfect end to the incident. We studied the KM and found he had two regular MAR fitted and a medium cap booster with just 9 Navy Cap Booster 400s remaining.

It has been a really hectic weekend and I've managed 57 kills for 3 losses.

Monday 17th February 2014

Winmatar have left the warzone. I wonder how they will explain their name to their new and future Gallante Militia allies? Wardecs are dropping and we ran a carrier operation to retieve our assets from Lulm. My Crane/Rhea/Archon alt making 3 jumps each way.

At 2000 I kicked off a spider Bantam roam that I had advertised. We very quickly got into an extended fight on the Kamela gate in Sosala against a superior Amarr Dessie/Inti gang. 14 of us, at least 16 of them. We finally fled the field losing 4 Bantams a Tristan and a Condor, but not before we took down a Catalyst (podded), Taranis, Hookbill, Condor, Slicer and Crow.

We reshipped into the same comp and went out again. Eventually ending up in Amamake on the Gulmorogod gate. A Hyperion jumped into us and we engaged. We were taking it down nicely when around 10 faction cruisers belonging to Pandamic Legion warped in. We though they were there to rescue the Hyperion and hung in to finish it off, then baled losing 2 Bantams. However on examining the Hyperion KM we found 5 PL on it, accounting for 17% of the damage between them.

There was some heavy activity going on around Huola. I took us back and we reshipped into Armor BCs with 3 Augoror. However, the targets we went after jumped into Otelen (high sec) and wouldn't engage us. We lost a logi pilot, so Lory took over as FC and I got into an Augoror. After a bit of a chase around the gates of Huola, we managed to gank down first a Widow, then a Sleipnir. The roam ended after that.

However, half an hour later I joined an adhoc gang of about 6 pilots and we ran around the local area losely in frigs and dessies. I was trying out my first Heretic and I had a superb time. We ganked down a Prophecy in Kourm then got into a fairly evenly matched fight in a plex in Kamala and killed 6 for the loss of only 1. We ended the night stumbling onto an AFK Slicer shooting the I-Hub in Roushzar. We killed and podded him and found he had a 109M pod.

Ended the night 25 kills for no loss. Although one of the kills (1.5% damage) was a friendly Bantam that I'd meant to rep in the Sosola fight.

Wednesday 19th February 2014

I lost 3 ships today and quite annoyed about all of them. The first was a kiting Slicer, lost to a brawling Slasher. The thing is I held the warp in and should have started the engagement at range, but I wasn't paying attention or orbiting at range, he landed 8 or 9 Kms off and got web and scram on before I could burn out. I went down just as SERIFOS arrived in a Tristan. He was too late to save me but he killed the Slasher. However, following him into the plex came a Harpy. SERIFOS baled just as I returned in a Heretic. I went in and found the Harpy out of position looting, I long pointed and kited him. SERIFOS returned in a Catalyst and helped finish him off, then scooped the loot. He then proceeded to whing at me for scooping his Tristan drones, but he had scooped the Harpy loot which in turn had scooped my Slicer loot. I tell you what, I'm known as a loot wh*re but SERIFOS surpasses even me.

The second loss was worse. Bengal had found three frigates in a small in Sosala. Zen and I went over to assist. Bengal however, was in a kiting Slicer and thought he could run the guantlet, get to range and long point one of them before we arrived, possibly taking one down and then moving onto the next. He got caught on the warp in, but took down a Condor with him. Leaving just a Rifter and Incursus remaining. Zen was in a Tristan, I was in a Heretic. Looked like an easy fight and we went in. I was primaried, we primaried the Rifter. I was webbed almost to a standstill and was shocked at how much damage was incoming plus how well the Rifter tanked our damage. With my final salvo I managed to pop the Rifter and then I was in a pod myself. Zen went on to kill the Incursus, but it was a poor exchange.

We podded back to Huola. A pirate Cyclone was sighted, Bengal and I reshipped into Drakes. We stacked on the Roushzar gate while Zen was searching Roushzar for it. Neither of us were firing on all cylinders that day. We didn't notice local spike and even aggressed the first one that arrived. The blob landed, around 50, mostly in frigates and we both lost our drakes.

I took a Leopard to a DED station and handed over 6 Clone Recruiter tags + 24M Isk to take my sec status from -7.51 to -4.51 reasoning that if I hadn't been flashy, I probably wouldn't have aggressed and then I would probably have got my Drake out or at least caused them significant losses from gate guns.

After a long break AFK, I came back and decided to do one belt ratting circuit of Huola (4 belts), to try and improve my sec status a little further. I undocked and selected warp to the top belt. However, before I went to warp a blob of neutral frigates undocked too.

I went to warp but was conscious that they may have seen where I warped to and would follow. Then I landed on a Navy Omen ratting. I remembered a similar incident 5 weeks earlier when I had landed on a Vexor, like this time I was in a gank Comet, I had engaged, been neuted, webbed and scramed and had died fast. This time I baled straight away to a safe.

Only after going to warp did I realise it had been a Navy Omen, not a Navy Vexor. An Omen is a lot more viable for a gank Comet to take on. I scanned to the station, the neutral frigate blob was gone. I scanned to the belt, empty. Damn, I'd missed my chance.

I scanned the other belts and then the plexs but found nothing and finally decided to go back to plan A. I warped to the top belt again... and found the Navy Omen there just finishing off the rats. He was 30 kms off and I only had a short point and AB. But I was able to burn in, scram him and then kill him easily. He was all T1 fit, awful fit. Total loss was only 77M - for a Navy Omen. I podded him too, empty.

I continued ratting and in the forth belt found a Dark Blood frigate, it dropped a Dark Blood EANM worth 69M. I was chuffed.

Ended the day 21 kills for 3 losses.

Thursday 20th February 2014

Lory was running an advertised blingy shield cruiser roam forming up at 2000hrs. I got into a Vagabond. Three Scythe pilots were eventually found for it and then Lory undocked before giving the order to the rest of us to undock as is his way. He found an Augoror Navy Issue on the undock from 'Sex Panthers', a pirate group that had moved into Roushzar recently. They were known for bringing out blingy comps with Guardian support.

The Augoror Navy Issue warped to a small plex. Lory warped after it, telling us to undock and follow. He landed and tackled the Augoror, then the trap was sprung. 2 Guardians, 4 or 5 Augoror Navy Issues and at least one Vexor Navy Issue warped in, just as our blob landed. We slaughtered them, taking down both Guardians, 3 Augoror Navy Issues and the Vexor Navy Issue (1.1B Isk) without loss.

After the post battle clear up, we headed out for Arzad to try and get a fight with 5th Legion who had been hitting our POCOs in the system. We arrived and made a show of shooting at one of their POCOs, about 10 of them undocked in a mixed bag that included a BS, a BC and a couple of Blackbirds. They are known for being a bit timid and we didn't expect them to come off the undock. But this time they were looking quite serious. Lory asked me to put my alt in Vard on the Ezzara gate. My alt arrived and cloaked up at a perch bookmark. Almost immediately a 50 man cruiser blob from a variety of neutral corps landed with Augorors and command ships.

Lory ordered us to bale to Tararan, hardly had we warped off, than 5th Legion warped from their undock to the POCO we had been shooting. The cruiser blob moved up to the Arzad gate in Ezzara with my alt following. We jumped into Tararan and got inside a medium plex. After an age 5th Legion followed us into Tararan and warped to the sun. They waited for us to engage them. The cruiser blob moved up to the Tararan gate in Arzad.

Eventually 5th Legion came to our plex gate. The blob jumped into Tararan as they activated the plex gate. Meanwhile we had burned to range inside the plex and started sniping 5th Legion coming in, but all did not go well. A friendly Scimitar pilot had joined our fleet during the move up to Arzad and at this eleventh hour he suddenly reported that he had fallen behind because he only had an AB fitted, of course he told us this after he was tackled. The cruiser blob, those that could get in joined 5th Legion and were clearly working with them. We took down a Blackbird and a Raptor, but lost an Exequoror Navy Issue in addition to the Scimitar.

Lory called bale and we best speeded it for Huola. The wartargets and neutrals slowly followed. Eventually reaching Huola. Lory was keen to engage and re-formed us up into an Armour Hac gang with 6 Guardians. We got set up in a medium plex in Huola just as the blob jumped to Kourm and warped to Kamela. At that point Sex Panthers turned up on the Huola gate in Roushzar with 4 Guardians and 6 Sacrileges. The Fifth Legion neutral blob returned to the Huola gate in Kourm and things were shaping up nicely.

At that point Shadow Cartel dropped on the Kourm gate in Huola and everyone went home.

Finished the night 13 kills for no loss.

Saturday 22nd / Sunday 23rd February 2014

Saturday begin with skirmishing around the plexs and some good fights were had, many solo or in twos and threes. At 1930 an op was kicking off. LNA had a POCO coming out of reinforced mode, but the information had reached Iron Oxide late and nobody had posted the op on our forum. I put up the op about 4 hours before it kicked off, but was doubtful that many Iron Oxide would turn up. Few did, but a lot of LNA and other Minmatar Militia did. A respectable fleet 40-50 strong turned out and the POCO was repped up without incident. Somewhat of an anti-climax, so the FC decided to use the fleet for an offensive op.

We were shipping to hit an enemy POCO when RvB were sighted in the area. Their scout was actually streaming and we could see that our fleet had been spotted and their fleet was burning for Huola. Intel came in, they were around 150 strong and had something like 42 Cyclones in their comp. That was clearly too much for us. The FC moved us into a medium plex and we set up. Our comp was shield cruisers with Scythe support, I was in a blaster Moa.

Around 80 of RvB could get into the plex and they came to the gate and activated. A huge punch up ensued which went on for some time. I was never primaried, but their discipline was poor and several times individuals shot at me, webbed and scrammed me. I got reps initially and was able to burn out or shot my way out each time. Eventually our reps went down and bale was called. I was long pointed at the time, but was able to burn out of it and warp off.

Meanwhile Shadow Cartel had dropped on the RvB BCs that couldn't get into the plex. A secondary fight had kicked off on the Roushzar gate in Huola between them. Some of us warped over in Dessies and Frigate to wh*re on and snipe at the periphals. We weren't the only ones, several pirates gangs were doing the same thing and some Amarr too. It was damn dangerous and confusing. A few of us moved to the sun and then planet one and started popping pods that were warping out of the fight.

Pandemic Legion dropped on the fight and there was much bitching in local as everyone baled. However SC rallied and LNA had contacts with them, we were offered the option of joining their fleet and going back in. Armour BS were needed, about 20 of us x'ed up and we joined their comms. I was in a regular Tempest. Shadow Cartel were with Snuffbox and Suddenly Spaceships and it was clear they were already engaged on the Otelen gate in Huola this time. Eve University (Ivy League) had joined the fight, but it wasn't clear whether they were just third partying or had an agenda.

We were undocked and ready to go, but we still weren't in their fleet. It took an age to get our old FC into their fleet and in a position to pick the rest of us up, partly because we didn't want to interrupt the SC FC who was in the middle of target calling. Time dilation was present and as annoying as it was it actually helped us. The SC FC was very calm and eventually we attracted his attention and got sorted.

The moment the fleet invite went up, I clicked yes, then warp. I was already aligned and went straight to warp. In the next second the FC was asking us to bring neuting Armageddons. Too late. I landed and found 7 PL Archons on fields. One was being primaried and I got a couple of volleys off as it went down. We shot at several other targets, but things were not going well. Someone complained that we were giving away the next target by locking up secondaries too early and they were getting reps on too fast. So the FC stopped calling secondaries, problem is most of SC were in T3 cruisers. My tempest was taking 30 seconds or more to lock up each target in that Time Dilation. Targets were either dying or getting reps before I could lock them. I tried to engage a good dozen targets, shot at a few, but only got on one more kill, an Armageddon. Meanwhile it was clear our reps were dying.

The FC started talking about baling and ordered us to align out. He kept asking who is getting primaried by PL, are they alphaing their targets, how are reps holding and who are Ivy League shooting? He consistently got told that yes PL were alphaing through their targets, reps weren't holding and most were dead anyway, Ivy League were only shooting us. Each time he decided we would take a few more before baling, as it became clear that with our reps dead, PL/Ivy League were now targeting the Minmatar Militia BS. F*ck this I thought, I scooped the loot from a nearby BS wreak and warped out.

After the fight was over I went back in a Talwar and later a Thrasher to scoop loot, but a lot of pirates hung around the field and were engaging anyone they could. I warped in and out and got some cheap stuff each time, then lost the Talwar. I then lost a Purifier trying to gank one of the pirate BCs.

According to Dotlan, that day saw 1042 ships and 175 pods die in Huola. Over the course of the weekend I made 66 kills (12 pods) for 6 losses.

Monday 24th February 2014

No advertised fleet tonight, but I started a fleet off and posted it in the fleet finder. It was meant for the half dozen or so of us in Huola just for loose support. But more and more people joined including Annah who took over as FC and before long were out on a Frigate roam with myself in an Inquisitor and close to 20 in fleet.

We skirmished with a kity Amarr force in the Gulmorogod area, got a few kills and lost a few due to range issues with the logi. But it was back in Huola towards the end of the night that we got the best fight.

Suddenly Spaceships came into system with 15 Succubus, a Dramiel and 3 Bursts. We hopped into AFs and Inquisitors, by this time I'd moved back to a DPS role and took a Vengeance.

Annah was a little worried about engaging, we had similar numbers, but no experience of fighting such a comp and SS are decent pilots. However, we eventually warped into them on the outside of a medium plex gate.

Annah landed first and called primary on one of their logi. However, he was immediately primaried himself and went down in seconds. I took over target calling and we killed 3 bursts, 5 Succubus and then I went down. However, Annah had reshipped and arrived back on field just in time to take over again.

Fortunately I bounced to a celestrial first and then warped to station to reship and found a 10 man Amarr Frigate gang on station trying to pop pods as they landed. I landed unaggressed and immediately docked then undocked in an Inquisitor as by then all our logi was down. The Amarr gang had gone, they had warped to the medium plex too. I landed and repped a few, but it was almost over by then. It seems the Amarr went for SS first, helping to finish the last of them, then we had turned on the Amarr killing 6 of them including a Taranis, Slicer, Firetail and Sentinel. SS had lost their entire fleet except a solitary Succubus. Namely 14 Succubus (each worth around 70M), 1 Dramiel and 3 Bursts. We lost 5 AFs and 4 logi. Tough fight, but not the force we had feared.

Ended the night 24 kills for 2 losses.

February 2014 roundup.

I ended the month with 502 kills which included 4 Carriers, 58 solo kills and 154 top damage, for 37 losses. My second best month on record, the best being May of 2013 which is when the siege of Arzad occurred. I love it when the Minmatar are on the back foot.

CTRL-Q managed 2177 kills for 403 losses which incidentally was our best month on record.

The warzone has been pretty stagnant for the last couple of months with the Amarr holding around 50 systems and keeping 16 of the Minmatar systems at or close to vulnerable. We felt that they were holding off flipping them until they got the final two systems (Huola and Lulm) into a similar state, but no significantly campaign was run by them (sadly). Only I think Bosbogger flipped to the Amarr during February, but was flipped back to us last week. Winmatar will probably say that the civil war and them leaving the militia is responsible for the poor situation. However, it was like that before the civil war kicked off and as I said, it is actually more fun when the Minmatar is on the back foot. It concentrates the WTs into a few systems and brings the fights to our backdoor.

I don't think Winmatar leadership ever worked out that to most of us FW is about getting the pew, not completely crushing and demoralising the other side or taking over the whole warzone.

Anyway, good fight to you all and I look forward to another month.

Monday 3rd March 2014

Lory was running his Rail Moa comp tonight. Around 15 of us joined up for it, but the warzone was dead. We did gank down a WT PvP fit Tengu in Arzad which foolishly took our bait on a plex gate. In spite of warnings in their Militia chat that we were in the next system. We ganked a few more things mainly catching them on system gates, then rushed back to Kourm to get on the tail end of a fight in a medium plex involving AFs and dessies, managing to kill about four.

I took a break for tea, but didn't return until after the fleet had disbanded. There were a couple of plexes up in Huola, but the system was stable. I kept undocking to scan the plexes while doing some admin, but one plex, a small, was out of scan range, so I put my cyno alt cloaked up off it.

In due course I noticed a WT Crucifier land on the plex. Undocked Trant in a Breacher and warped over. Entered the plex and found him killing the NPCs. Killed and podded him, looted the wreak and returned to station. About 15 minutes later, a neutral Cormorant landed outside the plex. Again I warped over in a Breacher, he was a little off gate, but I was able to burn in and get long point on him. I assumed he would be long range fit and got into a close orbit, but foolishly with MWD still running. He proceeded to rip me to shreads, overwhelming both ASBs, but in deep armor, I was just able to pull range and then sat out at an 18Km orbit and pecked him to death. Surprisingly, he was actually 125mm Railgun fit with no tracking mods.

Another 15 minutes later, I saw SERIFOS land on the gate in a Jaguar, he was almost immediately followed by a flashy Enyo and Stabber belonging to Drunk Chaos. SERIFOS activated and the Enyo followed him in. I jumped into a Hawk and undocked. Frustratingly, SERIFOS wasn't on comms (or in fleet) and I was having to communicate via corp chat and was initially uncertain whether he was reading it. I landed and entered. I was expecting SERIFOS to have killed the guy before I arrived. But when I locked up the Enyo, found him with most of his armor and active repping. So I wasn't just wh*ring on. I got in orbit with scram and web on. The Enyo's damage climbed and bit into structure and then to my horror SERIFOS popped. The Enyo was in half structure, but with the much reduced DPS, his twin reps pulled back his armor. However, I was able to hold him at the edge of scram range and after killing his one drone, he couldn't really touch me. SERIFOS reshipped into an Ishkur and returned to the fight. Then the Enyo's reinforcements arrived, first a Thrasher and then a Comet. The Thrasher came in and burned up to us. Just as it reached us the Enyo popped, then we turned and slaughtered the Thrasher. Meanwhile on the outside of the plex the Comet was just activating. I burned down towards the warp in, but was still 40 kms off when it landed. He could have easily got out, but he was a man of my blood and just had to loot SERIFOS' Jaguar wreak first which had dropped a deadspace AB. He got the loot, but got caught, quickly died and much to SERIFOS' disgust his AB didn't drop a second time.

Ten minutes later a WT Coercer entered the plex. Again I undocked, still in the Hawk, landed, entered and killed the Coercer. Somehow one NPC was still alive in the plex and once again I was robbed of a solo kill.

Another few minutes and I witnesses a blue Slasher land with in short order a suspect Thrasher and a pirate Enyo. All three hurriedly entered and I was given the impression they were chasing one another, but I wasn't too sure whether the Thrasher or Enyo was friendly to the Slasher. I decided to undock in a Breacher and warp over. Checking short scan, the Enyo had gone. I entered and found the Slasher and Thrasher fighting away. I engaged the Thrasher and then saw the Slasher pop. But by then I was at range and the Thrasher was autocannon fit. I proceeded to start kiting him to death. A WT Merlin entered the plex. I assumed he would attack me and considered baling, but hung on to finish the Thrasher. The Thrasher however, engaged the Merlin, catching him at the warp in. Together we finished the Thrasher off, then I switched to the Merlin and killed him too.

Another ten minutes and a neutral Atron arrived. I warped over in a Breacher. He was at range and he warped off before I could get in point range. A few minutes later the same exercise was repeated. On the third attempt I landed on top of him and he scrammed and webbed me. I was still hopeful that I could kill him, then disaster, I suddenly realised that the Thrasher had killed my two drones in the previous fight and I'd forgotten to replace them. Still I was double ASB fit and held up for a while, he I think was single AAR fit, he ran out of charges and I started to break him. Then his friend arrived in another Atron and I popped. I think he would have probably killed me on his own, but if I'd had those drones and his mate had been 30 seconds slower, I might have taken him.

Sad end to a good string and then I made it worse losing an Arty Wolf to an Arbitrator although I did kill and pod another Crucifier. Ended the night 21 kills for 2 losses.

Thursday 6th March 2014

This was a real hotch potch night. I started off in an Arty Rupture gang being run by Annah. Fleet grew rapidly in size. A large Amarr frigate and dessie gang came into system and started running the plex. We shipped down to Frigates, myself in an Inquisitor and chased them about making a few kills. Then three neutral cruisers landed on our plex gate and we bounced out and killed them.

A couple of minutes later a Sacrilege landed on the same gate again we bounced and killed it, but only just finished the job as two Guardians and several other ships warped in which included two Megathrons and two Loki. We reshipped and this time I took a Guardian. The fight kicked off and while a bit dodgy at first, we easily beat them in the end taking down both their Guardians, 2 Megathrons and a Celestis.

Next we were back into AFs and this time I decided I'd done enough Logi and took an Enyo. Another fast satisfying fight kicked off in Huola against a bunch of WT Dessies in one of the plexes and we slaughtered them.

We moved back to Arty Ruptures and went on the roam we had planned. We ganked down an Ishtur in Arzad but ended up rushing back to Huola to take on a neutral frigate gang. Surprisingly they warped to the Otelan gate and then stood and fought our Ruptures, they didn't have a chance and I came away with over 50M worth of loot from that battle.

Balex were about, in fact Annah had taken our Ruptures out to Arzad to stay away from them. We had a healthy respect for them. Although We have beaten them a few times, more often we had been torn a new one. However the fleet was still growing 40+ now. It was decided to get into Sacrileges and Guardians along with some heavy neuting ships and take them on. This time I took a Sacrilege and the fight kicked off on the Kourm gate in Huola with them jumping into us. I was one of the first primaried and went down in very short order, although looking at the killboard later, 4 of our Sacs died in the same minute of the fight. I reshipped into a Prophecy, but it was looking dodgey as I undocked with Annah dithering about baling. One of the logi pilots encouraged him to continue and I warped in. Our neuts finally broke their logi and their first Guard went down, followed in very short order by 2 more, a Talos and the surprise, a repping Legion, before they could bale. Looking at the killboards it looks like we lost 8 Sacrileges and a Stiletto worth 1.446B, their five losses came to 1.547B. But we were left holding the field and some nice loot too, I was given the Legion loot worth close to 100M to compensate my loss.

Ended the night 29 kills for one loss. Good Fight Balex.

Sunday 10th March 2014

I logon and undock in a Breacher, scan the plexes and see activity at the Novice. I warp over and find two Smile and Wave frigates on the gate, a Russian Militia corp. Inside the plex are a Firetail and Condor. I figure the three of us should be able to handle them if we all go in, trouble is we're not on comms together (and never are with S&W), that has caused problems in the past. Still this time it is pretty obvious, I activate the gate, expecting them to see and follow.

At that point a neutral Kestrel lands on the gate. I try to cancel, but too late and go in. I get tackled at the warpin and although I hold for a while with dual ASBs, no help comes and eventually I'm in a pod. Later I find a Caldari frigate wreak on the gate, so S&W killed the Kestrel, that was nice for you guys! I was raging.

I get an alt out in a Purifier and leave him cloaked off one of the plexes. Presently I see a friendly Rupture land and get tackled by a neutral gang of Frigates, including AFs, a couple of S&W guys warp in at range and snipe around the peripherals. I decided to ship into a RLML Caracal and warp at 50.

The Rupture pops, S&W bale and I land right on top of a Crow and Condor and within 30 Kms of the rest of the neutrals. I'm immediately tackled but burn away with MWD running, it seems they only have long points and no webs. I kill the crow and then the condor, but others have got tackle on me, most notably a Hawk. However, the Hawk is taking damage, a Weazl Omen (Micky Nox) has landed along with a CTRL-Q Tristan, the neutrals don't seem to be led and divide their DPS. However the Hawk stays on me, I empty my launchers on him, leaving him in half armor and wait for the reload cycle. We have drifted off the battle and Micky has stopped firing at the Hawk, it continues flying alongside me, shooting away but causing little damage. I'm barely in half shield when the reload completes. The Hawk dies in 2 or 3 salvos. I turn back but the rest of the neutrals bale.

A WT Arbitrator warps in at range. A known boosted kiter and sure enough he is fast, I managed to get close enough to unload half a dozen salvos and he bales. Four or five other friendlies are on the field by this stage and they start chasing after him. I'm not expecting them to catch him and don't follow but eventually they catch and kill him and I end up third place on the KM. Meanwhile I'm looting the field, warping back to station to unload and rep heat damage, then back to the plex for more loot. One of the neutral Condors had returned and I quickly kill it. Then a neutral Bantam and Cormorant warp in and I kill both although none of the last three were pure solo.

The day wears on and some big events occurs. A massive op to finish off a Suddenly Spaceships POS in Bosbogger, we were ready to take them on, but it ends when they batphone Shadow Cartel and we blue ball them instead. Then two epic fights with Sex Panthers in Huola, involving Guards and BS and both times we had to drop a carrier to turn the battle for us. Frankly they were the better team, but both battles were drawn out Logi stalemates and ended with remarkably few losses. We lost 2 Brutix in the first battle and they lost a Vexor Navy Issue. In the second they lost a solitary Guard.

It was getting quite late, but LNA were on by then and I like running in their laid back, totally chaotic skirmishing fleets. So I stayed on and a remarkable number of blingy kills were made. A Huggin and Loki in Kourm, then a Pilgrim out in Labapi. Next a Deimos and Hyperion in Huola, what were they thinking? Loads of smaller kills too.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, fleet activity was waning. A fair sized WT gang of frigates and dessies come into Huola belonging to Evil Monkeys Asylum, there is about a dozen of them. They split up and start bouncing around the plexes trying to catch farmers. My alt is cloaked up off one of them and presently I note 2 dessies and 2 frigate are on the gate and ideal targets for another run out in my RLML Caracal. I warp in at 50, shoot and kill one of the condors, the second bales, leaving a Thrasher and Algos. I target the Algos and then the blob lands. I finish the Algos and burn away, but now there is a whole host of them mostly in Condors with long points on me. I shoot and kill the nearest condor and then fire my last two salvos at the next. It puts him into deep structure. But now my reload cycle kicks in. I launch my drones and they pop him. lol! The reload cycle completes and I'm still not even in half shields. I pop two more Condors and then the rest bale, leaving me to pod the final victim. What a superb result. For me at least.

Ended the day/night 40 kills for 1 loss.
