ESS should be deployable in Low Sec. Why is it not?

Also: LOL at the cripple fight between SMA and S2N posters. "You are more **** than I am, and I am pretty ****" SMA/S2N ITT.

Gewns anchor them inside the anoms making it hard to me steal their tears with all those npcs kicking my inty ass :(

Why don't you bring a real combat ship to take tears with instead of running around in something that can't even tank a few miserly rats?

If you can't kill or avoid a couple NPC AI frigates in an interceptor I don't know what to tell you. It's not like anything bigger will even scratch the paint.

If you drop a ESS behind an accel gate, then an alt has plenty of time to hit share and then scoop the unit before a hostile could possibly get to it, even in an Interceptor. Just hit that share button as soon as a red enters local.

I can see CCP changing it so that it follows this rule:

"If its someplace where you cannot warp to it then you cannot anchor it."

This assumes CCP's intent was that warping to the ESS beacon shown in the overview should always drop you at the ESS.

Oddly I remember suggesting players should drop them in combat sites. Others thought that was silly because you are just advertizing where you are. But the advantage of time to hit share and scoop wins out.

Yeah except for the part where it's horribly broken & CCP renegged on their promise to fix it on the 3rd of February. Unfortunately idiots actually anchor these things.

lol, I assumed CCP would have anticipated this. Anchoring these things in deadspace was probably the first thing that came to mind when reading about them. Would be pretty easy to sneak into the last room of a low value complex, mwd 500km, and drop the ESS there, making it pretty much invulnerable to theft.

It will certainly be fixed.

You want to take odds on this getting fixed, and when?
Because the situation you describe benefits null sec to no end, it may not be "fixed", but CCP will state that this is "working as designed", or we will get to it "soon".

CCP recognized that anchoring an ESS near a wh was a design oversight, and plan on fixing it fast.
This "feature"....well, this is a whole other thing.

Wormhole people wanted their bug fixed.
Null bears will NOT want this one fixed.

Frankly, the first design of the ESS was malicious and arbitrary to null sec players.

Interesting....

Good that CCP is made aware of this, as I rather doubt this is "working as intended."

Less than that.

We had our guys inside CCP design it to work inside anoms, and pass along the info. Cartels in action, yo.

So Null Sec makes slightly more income without making more isk faucets and a slightly larger LP isk sink.
Well done on them working out how to leverage the ESS to make more income overall.

So.... what's the issue? It's still a conflict driver, just not a free isk machine for inti gangs.
What's the issue for high sec? It doesn't nerf High Sec in the slightest having Null make a little more income. Though it doesn't solve the main issue of population density that can be sustained in null. But it doesn't really affect high sec. Other than maybe a little more value to some high sec mission LP if a few Null Sec players go back to ratting/anoms in Null now they have higher income (They already did but some of them are convinced they didn't before).

How does this hurt anyone compared to before they introduced the ESS.

In theory it slightly hurts HS LP income, but honestly most LP farmers are doing SoS right now...

Since it's only a nullsec deployed item, isn't this kind of obvious?

Do what I've been doing. I go to someone elses space and anchor the ESS for them. Then I steal from it.

It's really a service.
