Corp & Alliance Structure Concept

I had an idea yesterday that may be something worth looking at when CCP gets round to revamping Corp and Alliance management.

This would be a brand new system, running alongside the old code, and players would have the option to transfer their corp/alliance over to it. New corps would use it automatically and the old stuff would be phased out over time.

The idea is to add an intractable Corp Management Tree.

Instead of having several spreadsheets with all the roles/titles/members, there is a single screen similar to the ISIS which displays corp members in a hierarchy. CEO's can change/create title blocks, move them around, assign permissions then drag/drop members into the block to assign the title to them.

The blocks themselves can be used to create titles, groups, divisions, tribes... however you want to organise your corp. (You could place 'title' blocks into a 'group' block for example)

It would give current members a clear visual aid of who is in their corp and who can do what, it will show the CEO who is placed where and other pilots interested in joining your corp can have a look at it to get an idea of how your corp operates.

Starter corps could use preset trees then modify them as they grow and develop into their own unique organisation.

+1 Any thought into coporate restructuring would be a benefit, seeing as atm its a minefield

What you are suggesting is nothing more than a new UI for the existing system. I'm sure it would be an improvement for small corps, but how would entities like Brave Newbies manage thousands of players on a purely visual 'entire corp' interface?

The goal is making an organisation easier to manage and display. The fundamental mechanics of permissions and access rights will need to be retained in some form or another.

Using this interface on larger groups like Brave Newbies could maybe use an 'alliance view' or an option to create alliance titles/divisions, maybe even use it to manage towers/structures from a central interface. Good point though.

brave newbies has a structure? i thought it was just a corp you paid tax to and got f all in return

Seriously i doubt bni have any inclination to go through 12+ pages of 500 members each with tiny little check boxes just to keep everyone upto date, i whole hartedly expect its more of a 'recruit and let them pay taxes' deal, a more intuitive, visual process with some actual features like probation time and drag and drop (dragging groups of unassigned corp members) i think would make it a lot easier for everyone.
