Client constantly crashes when starting up since latest rubicon patch

I use Mint 16 and before the lastest patch was happily multiboxing up to 6 clients at a time with no issues whatsoever. I don't use the launcher and run exefile.exe directly. TBH I prefer the olde school login screen.

Since the latest patch I have to start each client multiple times before they get to the log in screen.

When they crash I get this stack dump http://pastebin.com/b0542zWi

ATM I might have to start a client as many as 10 times before it gets to the login screen.

Please run wine with WINEDEBUG=trace+d3d

Though judging by the backtrace, it's what I think it is.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35414

Here it is. Wine got broken between 1.7.10 and 1.7.11 in the wined3d_device_reset function (gets used when resizing the game window among other things). Current git wine version should be fixed (at least the fix is committed, and it does work). Your options are to rollback to 1.7.10, wait till 1.7.12 or build your wine yourself.

I built from the latest source and that seems to have fixed the issue.

Oof, wish you didn't have to full source. 1.6.0 seems to work pretty well.

The launcher is still crap, and using the exe file is so much faster. But other than that, pretty much the same for me.

I find the recent 1.7 releases fix all wine launcher issues for me under Ubuntu.
