Silas, darling! Love that look, love it!

I am nothing if not a magnanimous optimist (unless we are talking about a Matari pack animal, of course), however, and so I am confident that, with a little reflection, the merits of less information shall dawn upon Proper Parties. To move things along in that direction, I shall quote one of my favorite ancient pulp novelists:

There's a difference between fear of the unknown, and fear of the boogie man. The Lapetan titans fall into the category of the latter.

Only the extremely paranoid, and small, select branches of our military are afraid of these ships that might as well be myths.

Camera drones streak behind the naked rump of a LYCANTHROPIC SEBIESTOR BUNNY BOY on a jet ski gliding above the flawless white sand of a tropical atoll. With an expert turn, the Sebboi sends an arc of water to the precise edge of a steel platform.

There, the CRONE sits in a severe black pantsuit beneath a cream yellow parasol held at precisely the right angle by a CYLINDRICAL KAMEIRA eight feet tall. The CRONE closes an interface screen projected behind her lidless eyes and lifts a frosty blood red Mary from a silver tray held by a SMARTLY UNDRESSED NI-KUNNI WAITER.

With a continuous "sip," the CRONE over-drains the glass and places it back on the silver tray.]

"Mummy will have another," says the CYLINDRICAL KAMEIRA.

"Of course," agrees the SMARTLY UNDRESSED NI-KUNNI WAITER.

You are, without a doubt, the stupidest, most ill-informed, mentally inferior pilot that I have ever had the chance to intercourse with. Nothing you say is correct and greatly illuminates why your corp was kicked from FA.
I henceforth block your miserable, low quality, factually deficient posts from my daily read and pray that God may have mercy on your soul.

Edit:
I can think of a few reasons such a behemoth would be feared on the battle field and one specific reason why any appearance would cause the FC to order a full retreat.

We were actually kicked because subhuman filth such as yourself betrayed us, but thats a different story.

My little bee, you'll find Im usually right about things. However, people like yourself continue to argue against all logic and reasoning. In your case, there is no logic or reasoning to begin with.

Goons like you are nothing but useless pilots who need to give themselves purpose by joining a corporation that will stroke your ego. Your skills as a pilot are nothing but waiting for the FC to tell you to press a button. Your words are whatever propaganda The Mitanni decided to shove up your gaping, puckered ass this week. Goons are nothing more than Sansha wannabes.

You really have no reading comprehension do you? I never once cast doubt on the effectiveness of a Lapetan in battle, merely that they are ineffective at transporting leaders and never used. Part of why themitanni.com is the shittiest propaganda outlet in New Eden is because they have people like you editing it.

Back to the topic. To sum up it should be something like that in the end :

  • Amarr Empress: Abbadon or Avatar of the Empress
  • Caldari Head of State: Raven (maybe the State Issue)
  • Minmatar Leaders: Tempest Tribal Issue

For the Gallante President an Opux Luxury Yacht ?

Despite the obvious question to why keep an Intergalactic leader in something as fragile as a ship, I'll suppose the OP regards situations where the said person's presence is required in space - whether due to the transportation, or the thrill of the battle - in any case, using either a Yapethan or a Promethean Titan for that would be a waste of resources.

After all it makes sense that these ships should be under the control of more or less competent people with a Navy background - keeping Federal Senate politicians off a Solteur or an Erebus class doesn't sound like a bad idea, doesn't it.

Adding to ms. Rydianna's list is that little action story from The Scope, I believe? , suggesting Trald Vukenda is flying a Seraphim-class battleship alongside an escort task force. I'm afraid I can't confirm or deny such rumors, however.

Can't say for certain. The President doesn't really make a show out of his travels. He rarely goes to other Empires in person, and talks to his cabinet via holoprojector. He really only goes out when his actual presence is important.

That said, an Opux luxury yacht would do the job fine. Though it does lack the necessary protection in case of an attack. I'd imagine his yacht would be given extra armor as well as electronic counter measures to aid himself.

Of course, I've never seen a Gallentean president's ship or heard reports of it. Which could suggest something fast and/or stealthy.

Generally when moving VIPs, you want something that blends comfort, protection and anonymity. more often than not in these situations, the best protection is the ability to get away from danger very quickly.

Bearing in mind also that the empires have access to technology that simply isn't available to capsuleers - any else remember the rather delicious way that the Goons bounced off a procession of tribal elders? - and I'd be surprised if we ever saw a major political figure's ship on D-scan or overview, and if we did I'd be even more astounded if it could be locked and held down long enough to accomplish anything, especially given that there'll be a security response team mere seconds away.

If you're going to assassinate a major politician, in other words, the opportune moment is not when they're in space, but when they're on the ground, as the sad example of the late Chief Karin Midular shows.

Our president is currently using a first gen pod to transport himself to and frow on official business. It's armed with only a single 5 Meter long spike with which, it has been rumored, he uses to obliterate titans in one shot. He does not have a security detail, as they would only be in the way.

A little trust goes a long way. The less you use, the further you'll go.

Really? that's a step down from the people who claim that he flies seven freighters that have been welded together because that's the only way to transport his ego.

It's ten custom jump freigters. And we transport it separately, due to it's fragile nature.

Most often, Leaders seem to be flying battleships when moving around.

The Tribal leaders used Tempest class battleships to reach the assembly. Tiberius Heth & the few corporation CEO's spotted flying used Raven class battleships.
Empress Jamyl Sarum used an Abaddon battleship, in older times, some Hodlers have been spotted flying Apocalypse ships.

So from this, it seems battleships are the preferred method of transport for leaders & important persons. This is reasonable, as battleships offer a good mix of security & mobility.

Point of order.
Was the empress a passenger on that Abaddon mentioned? I was under the impression she was the pilot. She is a capsuleer after all.

Actually given a number of high profile people are capsuleers these days, I wonder how many are content to be flown anywhere by someone else.
